Bio
I am currently a Staff Data Scientist at Fortinet. Before that, I was a Senior Applied Scientist at Splunk. Prior to that, I was a visiting scholar at Informatics Institute at University of Florida. I received my PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering and MS in Computer Science at the University of Southern California. I also obtained a master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Statistics from Virginia Tech. I earned my BS in Electrical and Industrial Engineering, completing a double major, from Sharif University of Technology. I have been the recipient of the Best Dissertation Award in 2021, IEEE Data Science Workshop Best Paper Award in 2019, Best Teaching Assistant Award and John Grado Teaching Assistant Award in 2016. I have also been nominated for the prestigious William F. Ballhaus, Jr. Prize for Excellence in Graduate Engineering Research. My research interests include the design and analysis of large scale optimization algorithms arising in the modern data science era.
Research Interest
I am currently working on the area of dynamic data analytics and I design algorithms for analyzing large-scale data in stochastic environment.
