40 Hz - Invitation Residency

The residency was dedicated to a specific investigation of low frequencies, with the aim of introducing the 40Hz project, scheduled to start in May 2025.

The research of BAAB stands out for its interdisciplinary approach and interest in sound, understood not only as a physical phenomenon but also as a container of meaning.

Following this philosophy, a composition was developed to analyze the impact of specific frequencies, such as 40Hz and others within the low-frequency spectrum, on the brain during the listening phase.

The study explored the alternation between consonant and dissonant sounds, different tuning systems, variations in listening experiences and modes, the development of low sounds with rhythmic and melodic qualities, and included collaboration with neuroscientist Sasha D’Ambrosio.
