This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Master (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares information.

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application PDF Master, package name com.pdfmaster.app, and related services operated by us.
By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should stop using the App and may uninstall it at any time.
2. Information We Access or Process
2.1 Documents and Files
PDF Master is a document-management and PDF-processing application. Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the App may access:
PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, and supported image files;
File names, file paths or content URIs, file types, sizes, and modification dates;
Document content required for reading, searching, previewing, editing, converting, compressing, splitting, merging, printing, OCR, or other document operations;
Documents selected through Android’s system file picker;
Supported documents discovered in shared storage when you grant “All files access.”
Document indexes, reading progress, favorites, temporary scan pages, and related metadata are generally stored locally on your device.
The App does not automatically upload your documents in the background. Document content is transmitted to an online service only when you intentionally use a feature that requires online processing, such as the AI document assistant.
2.2 Camera and Scanned Pages
If you use the scanning feature and grant camera permission, the App may process:
Camera images and scanned pages;
Cropping, rotation, enhancement, page order, and other scan settings;
Text extracted through OCR.
Camera images, scan pages, and OCR results are generally processed and stored on the device. Temporary scan files may remain in the App’s private storage until you delete them, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App.
The App does not request microphone access and does not record audio.
2.3 AI Document Assistant
When you intentionally request a summary, translation, key points, or an answer about a document, the App sends the information required to complete that request to the configured AI processing service. This may include:
A randomly generated request identifier;
A local document identifier;
Your command, question, and requested language;
Relevant excerpts or text chunks from the selected document;
Page references;
App version and language settings.
The App does not send an entire document unless the content required to fulfill your request includes the entire document. Documents are not submitted to the AI service merely because they have been imported, indexed, opened, or scanned.
AI prompts, responses, and chat history may also be stored locally on your device. AI-generated content may be inaccurate and should not be treated as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
The configured AI service and its infrastructure providers may process submitted content to provide the requested result. Our configured AI processing provider is DeepSeek (Privacy Policy available at https://www.deepseek.com/privacy).
2.4 Device, App, and Network Information
The App and its service providers may automatically process technical information such as:
App package name, version, installation time, and update time;
Device manufacturer, brand, model, operating-system version, and build information;
Screen resolution, language, country or region, and time-zone offset;
Available storage information;
Network type, carrier or network operator, and connectivity status;
IP address and approximate location inferred from IP address;
User-agent information;
Installation source and Google Play install-referrer information;
Random installation identifiers generated by the App;
Android ID;
Google Advertising ID, where available and permitted;
Whether advertising tracking has been limited in Android settings;
Firebase Cloud Messaging token and notification-delivery information.
The App does not intentionally collect your name, personal email address, telephone number, contact list, precise GPS location, financial-account information, or government identification number. Such information may nevertheless appear in a document or AI prompt that you choose to process.
2.5 Usage, Analytics, and Diagnostic Information
Depending on the App configuration and your choices, we may process:
App installation and launch events;
Pages and features used;
Document-operation types, such as scan, read, convert, compress, or edit;
Feature performance, failures, and stability information;
Advertising requests, loading results, impressions, clicks, closures, and errors;
Advertising source, format, placement, campaign attribution, and impression-level revenue;
Consent-flow and privacy-choice status.
Our custom usage-analytics service, identified in the App as GTE/TBA, is intended to receive product, device, installation, and advertising events. It is designed to exclude document names, file paths, document text, OCR results, AI prompts, and AI conversations.
Pending custom analytics events may be held locally for up to two days while awaiting delivery. Disabling “Anonymous usage analytics” clears the pending GTE/TBA queue and stops further GTE/TBA collection until the setting is enabled again.
2.6 Advertising and Attribution
The production version of the App may display advertisements and use advertising, attribution, consent-management, and revenue-measurement services.
Depending on your region, consent choices, Android settings, and the configured advertising sources, these services may process:
Advertising identifiers and installation identifiers;
IP address and approximate location;
Device, application, operating-system, and network information;
Ad requests, impressions, clicks, conversions, and revenue;
Installation source, campaign, and referral information;
Fraud-prevention and security signals;
Consent and advertising-preference information.
The App uses Google User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) to present applicable advertising privacy choices before requesting ads. Google and selected advertising partners may process data according to those choices. Google requires publishers using AdMob in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland to disclose the advertising partners that may receive personal data; the active list is presented through the UMP consent interface and may change with the App’s AdMob configuration. The “Anonymous usage analytics” setting controls the App’s GTE/TBA analytics and Meta advertising-revenue reporting. Turning it off may not independently disable processing required for AdMob, UMP, AppsFlyer attribution, Firebase, Cloud Messaging, fraud prevention, or basic advertising measurement. Advertising choices should also be managed through the UMP privacy interface and Android advertising settings.
3. Android Permissions
The App may request the following permissions or special access:
All files access / storage: Used to discover, open, manage, edit, and export supported documents in shared storage.
Camera: Used to scan documents.
Notifications: Used for task results, document updates, reading reminders, feature education, and background-service notices.
Display over other apps: Used only when you enable the floating document assistant.
Network access: Used for AI requests, advertising, analytics, remote configuration, attribution, and push notifications.
Foreground service, wake lock, alarms, and boot events: Used to maintain user-enabled background tasks, reminders, notification delivery, and service recovery.
Permissions can be denied or revoked in Android system settings. If a permission is denied, the related feature may not function, but unrelated document features may remain available.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide document discovery, reading, editing, scanning, OCR, conversion, and export features;
Fulfill AI summaries, translations, and questions initiated by you;
Save reading progress, favorites, settings, and local history;
Deliver notifications and user-enabled background functionality;
Provide and measure advertising;
Attribute installations and evaluate marketing campaigns;
Measure feature usage, performance, and advertising revenue;
Diagnose failures and improve reliability;
Prevent fraud, abuse, invalid advertising activity, and security incidents;
Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
We do not use document content, OCR text, or AI conversations to select advertisements.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients:
5.1 AI Processing Providers
Relevant document excerpts, prompts, and request metadata are transmitted to our configured AI service (DeepSeek) only when you initiate an AI request.
5.2 Google Services
The App may use Google AdMob, UMP, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play Install Referrer, advertising identifiers, and Google-supported document-scanning services.
Google may process app identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, device information, usage events, advertising activity, consent information, and messaging tokens. For more information, review:

5.3 AppsFlyer
AppsFlyer may process installation, attribution, device, network, advertising, campaign, app-event, and impression-revenue information. AppsFlyer may act as our processor or service provider for attribution and marketing measurement.

5.4 Meta
Where configured and permitted by the App’s analytics setting, Meta App Events may receive advertising-revenue events. Meta Audience Network may also participate as a mediated advertising source.

5.5 Advertising Mediation Partners
Depending on the active AdMob configuration, advertising requests may be offered to Google and third-party mediation partners, including AppLovin, Meta Audience Network, Pangle, Mintegral, Liftoff Monetize/Vungle, Unity Ads, and ironSource.
These partners may process advertising identifiers, IP addresses, device information, ad interactions, approximate location, and fraud-prevention signals. For example, see the AppLovin Privacy Policy. The complete active partner list is available in the UMP advertising-privacy interface.
5.6 Legal and Business Disclosures
We may disclose information:
When required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request;
To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of rights;
To protect users, the public, our property, or our services;
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or transfer of the App, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.
6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
We do not sell your documents, document content, AI prompts, or personal information for money.
Advertising disclosures to certain ad networks, exchanges, or measurement partners may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “cross-context behavioral advertising” under some privacy laws.
Where required, you may opt out or manage these practices through:
The App’s UMP privacy-choice interface;
Android’s advertising privacy settings;
The “Anonymous usage analytics” setting;
Privacy-request mechanisms provided by the relevant advertising partner;
A request sent to our privacy contact address.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
7. Data Storage and Retention
Document indexes, reading progress, favorites, temporary scan pages, AI chat history, settings, and uninstall-feedback records are stored locally on your device until deleted through the App, cleared through Android settings, or removed when the App is uninstalled.
Clearing the document index does not delete the original documents. Uninstalling the App generally deletes App-private information, but does not delete original documents or exports saved in public or system-selected folders.
Pending GTE/TBA events are retained locally for no more than two days. Information already transmitted to us is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and security.
Third-party providers maintain information according to their own retention policies. For example, AppsFlyer states that it generally retains end-user data for no more than 24 months unless otherwise directed or legally permitted.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.
AI requests and custom analytics transmissions are sent using encrypted HTTPS connections. The App disables Android cloud backup for its App-private data.
No transmission or storage system is completely secure. You should protect your device, retain backups of important documents, and avoid submitting highly sensitive information to an AI service unless necessary.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
Revoke camera, notification, storage, or overlay permissions through Android settings;
Disable the floating assistant and optional background features;
Disable “Anonymous usage analytics” in the App;
Manage advertising consent through the UMP privacy interface;
Reset or delete your advertising identifier through Android settings;
Clear cached files, AI assistant history, and the local document index;
Clear all App data through Android settings;
Delete original documents or exports through the App or another file manager;
Uninstall the App.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
Request access to personal information;
Request correction or deletion;
Restrict or object to processing;
Withdraw consent;
Request data portability;
Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
Appeal a denied privacy request;
Lodge a complaint with a data-protection or consumer-protection authority.

10. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information based on:
Performance of a contract: To provide features you request;
Consent: For analytics, personalized advertising, or other processing where consent is required;
Legitimate interests: To maintain, secure, improve, measure, and prevent abuse of the App, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights;
Legal obligations: To comply with applicable law and lawful requests;
Protection of vital or legal interests: Where necessary to protect users, us, or others.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing completed before withdrawal.
11. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms or contractual protections, such as standard contractual clauses, and rely on service-provider safeguards appropriate to the relevant processing.
12. Children’s Privacy
PDF Master is a general document-productivity application and is not directed to children under 13 or any higher minimum age required by local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without legally required authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at ventdevlo@gmail.com so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
The App should not be configured to serve personalized advertising to users known to be children.
13. Third-Party Content and Links
Documents, websites, advertisements, and services opened through the App may be operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for third-party content or practices outside our control.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices.
When changes are made, we will update the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or how personal information is processed, we will provide additional notice where required.
