If you want maximum maneuverability for tight motorcycle hauling and a system that keeps your bed fully usable, choose B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball; if you need a heavy-duty, truck-specific solution for 2003–2012 Dodge Ram models that prioritizes rigid stability over bed space flexibility, choose MARSITTER Gooseneck Trailer Hitch. These two products solve different problems for the same job: moving heavy loads. One is an extender designed to refine an existing towing setup, while the other is a complete hitch kit engineered specifically for older generation Dodge trucks. Understanding this fundamental difference in their design intent is the only way to decide which one belongs in your truck bed for hauling motorcycles or other heavy cargo.
• B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball: Its biggest strength is the ability to move the pivot point four inches rearward, drastically improving turning radius for large trailers; its trade-off is that it is strictly an accessory requiring a compatible base hitch and does not fit every truck model. This pick is for owners who already have a B&W Turnoverball hitch installed and need better clearance for wide loads like dual-axle motorcycle haulers.
• MARSITTER Gooseneck Trailer Hitch: Its biggest strength is its robust, full-kit construction using 5/32" steel and seamless tubes tailored specifically for Dodge Ram 2500/3500 diesel models from 2003 to 2012; its trade-off is the lack of an included manual, the requirement for professional installation, and incompatibility with Carbonpro beds. This pick is for Dodge Ram owners needing a permanent, high-strength gooseneck solution without the need for an extender.
The B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Extender (GNXA4085) is not a standalone product; it is a precision tool designed to enhance an existing towing system. The core engineering feature here is simple but transformative: it moves the pivot point of the trailer connection four inches further back than the standard hitch allows. In practical terms, when you are hauling a long motorcycle trailer or a wide equipment carrier, that extra length makes a massive difference. It reduces the chance of the trailer striking the truck cab during sharp turns and provides a much smoother transition when backing into tight spots. If you have ever struggled to get a long trailer around a corner without scraping your bumper, this extension solves that geometry problem instantly.
The build quality reflects its intended use as a premium accessory. It is constructed from 3/4" steel plate, which is significantly thicker than many standard components found on generic kits. Because it is made in America and comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, it signals a commitment to durability that matches the heavy-duty nature of towing motorcycles and RVs.

This product is explicitly for people who already own the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch and find themselves limited by the standard turning radius. It is also ideal for those who frequently tow oversized loads where every inch of clearance counts. However, you should skip this entirely if you do not already have the specific B&W Turnoverball base hitch, as it will not bolt onto a random aftermarket system. It is also not suitable if you drive a truck that cannot accommodate the specific mounting requirements of the B&W system. If you need a new hitch from scratch, this extender alone will not get you there.
The MARSITTER Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Kit represents a completely different approach to towing: a comprehensive, truck-specific solution rather than an add-on. Designed exclusively for the 2003 through 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 diesel models, this kit is built to integrate directly into the chassis of these specific vehicles. The construction focuses heavily on raw stiffness and strength, utilizing 5/32" steel combined with 2" x 0.120" seamless tubes. This combination creates a rigid frame that resists flexing under heavy loads, which is critical when hauling heavy motorcycle rigs or flatbeds across uneven terrain. The black finish suggests a focus on blending with the truck's aesthetic while protecting against the elements.
A key functional aspect of this kit is the flip-up ball design. When flipped up, the hitch engages for towing operations. When flipped down and stored within the ball hole, the system theoretically clears the bed floor, allowing for storage use when not towing. While the mechanics of flipping the ball allow for bed versatility, the installation process is notably more involved than a simple bolt-on. The product description emphasizes that no instruction manual is provided, and professional installation is highly recommended. This implies a complex integration with the truck's frame and bed structure, likely involving significant drilling and precise alignment to ensure the 86.88-pound assembly functions safely.
You must choose this kit only if you drive one of the specified Dodge Ram years and models. It explicitly excludes trucks with Carbonpro beds, a detail that could render the kit useless for owners of newer versions of the same truck series. This is a permanent or semi-permanent fixture rather than a temporary tool. It is perfect for a fleet owner or an individual who needs a reliable, high-capacity gooseneck connection for a Dodge Ram and is willing to invest in professional installation to get it right. It is not for someone looking for a quick DIY fix or a universal fitment.
• Best for turning clearance → B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball, thanks to the four-inch rearward pivot shift that prevents trailer strikes.
• Best for specific truck compatibility → MARSITTER Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, engineered specifically for 2003–2012 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 diesels.
• Best for DIY simplicity → Neither option is truly DIY-friendly due to the specialized nature of the B&W extender or the lack of manuals for MARSITTER, but B&W assumes you already have the base system.
• Best for material thickness → B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball uses 3/4" steel plate, offering a very dense, thick component compared to the tube-based MARSITTER design.
• Best for bed storage versatility → MARSITTER Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, with its flip-down ball design intended to clear the bed floor for non-towing storage.
• Best for warranty peace of mind → B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball, backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, whereas MARSITTER details do not specify a similar coverage term.
• Best for avoiding Carbonpro bed issues → Avoid MARSITTER if you have a Carbonpro bed; B&W requires checking base hitch compatibility instead.
• Best for immediate readiness → B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball is ready to attach if you own the base, while MARSITTER requires finding a professional installer first.
For my money, if you are hauling motorcycles and need to navigate tight spaces without fear of hitting your cab, I would buy the B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball extender immediately. The ability to shift that pivot point four inches back is a game-changer for handling long, awkward loads like dual-axle motorcycle trailers. It transforms a standard towing experience into a much more manageable one. However, if you drive a 2003–2012 Dodge Ram and don't have a B&W system yet, the MARSITTER kit is the only logical path forward, provided you budget for professional installation. In my opinion, the B&W system offers superior flexibility for the general motorcyclist who values maneuverability above all else.
No, it is strictly limited to 2003–2012 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 diesel models and explicitly excludes any trucks equipped with Carbonpro beds.
No, the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Extender is an accessory that requires the specific B&W Turnoverball base hitch to function properly.
Installation is complex enough that the manufacturer recommends professional assistance, noting that no instruction manual is included with the package.
