I've created a storage account on Azure for uploading files to. I am using KenoUI Async upload widget which allows multiple file uploads. What I'd like to do is have the system create a container based on the passing in Id parameter if it doesn't already exist.

Microsoft Azure Blob Storage provides a scalable service for storing your data. To ensure your application is as performant as possible, an understanding of how blob storage works is recommended. Knowledge of the limits for Azure blobs is important, to learn more about these limits visit: Scalability and performance targets for Blob storage.

Partition naming is another potentially important factor when designing a high-performance application using blobs. For block sizes greater than or equal to 4 MiB, High-Throughput block blobs are used, and partition naming will not impact performance. For block sizes less than 4 MiB, Azure storage uses a range-based partitioning scheme to scale and load balance. This configuration means that files with similar naming conventions or prefixes go to the same partition. This logic includes the name of the container that the files are being uploaded to. In this tutorial, you use files that have GUIDs for names as well as randomly generated content. They are then uploaded to five different containers with random names.

Use the following command on your local machine to create a remote desktop session with the virtual machine. Replace the IP address with the publicIPAddress of your virtual machine. When prompted, enter the credentials you used when creating the virtual machine.

In the Azure portal, navigate to your storage account. Select Access keys under Settings in your storage account. Copy the connection string from the primary or secondary key. Log in to the virtual machine you created in the previous tutorial. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and run the setx command with the /m switch, this command saves a machine setting environment variable. The environment variable is not available until you reload the Command Prompt. Replace tag_hash_110 in the following sample:

Type dotnet run to run the application. The first time you run dotnet it populates your local package cache, to improve restore speed and enable offline access. This command takes up to a minute to complete and only happens once.

While the files are being uploaded, you can verify the number of concurrent connections to your storage account. Open a console window and type netstat -a | find /c "blob:https". This command shows the number of connections that are currently opened. As you can see from the following example, 800 connections were open when uploading the random files to the storage account. This value changes throughout running the upload. By uploading in parallel block chunks, the amount of time required to transfer the contents is greatly reduced.

If you want to upload multiple files, you need to use option /S. Specifying option /S uploads the contents of the specified directory to Blob storage recursively, meaning that all subfolders and their files will be uploaded as well. Below is an example where all files and subfolders from the C:\myfolder will be uploaded to the mycontainer container in your Azure Blog Storage account:

So I often use macOS Sierra or different Linux distributions and AzCopy is not available for those OSs. However, the Azure CLI is a suitable alternative for copying data to and from Azure Storage on those platforms. In this article, we are going to see how we can download multiple files from the Azure Blob Storage using ASP.NET Core. We can say that this article is an appendix to our multiple articles that cover Azure Blob Storage, and we encourage you to read them as well.

Instead of working with the actual Azure storage, we are going to use Azurite, an emulator used for testing and development. We are going to create a small console application with Visual Studio 2022 since Azurite comes with it by default.

We are going to use Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer to connect to Azurite blob storage and to prepare some files. After the download and launch, we can find our Azurite storage under the local-1 account (since we already run it):

Why this specific version? At the moment of writing this article, there is a bug with the latest package version and the Azurite version (3.14.1) that comes with Visual Studio. It turns out that they are not backward compatible and that we should either update Azurite to version 3.16.0 or downgrade the SDK a bit, which we decided to do.

We utilize the Parallel.ForEachAsync method that we got in the .NET 6 version. First, the Parallel.ForEachAsync method is going through pages of blobs in parallel, and then it is downloading blobs from each page.

Is there any filter or parameter or condition that can be specified in my logstash conf file where I want to read one specific file from BLOB storage container where many different files are stored on that particular BLOB storage.

Log files of certain microservices are being stored on Microsoft Azure BLOB storage and the type of BLOB is Append BLOB.

The following link provided me the input parameters to read log data from BLOB storage.

What I am trying to understand is whether there is an opportunity to organize various backup jobs under a folder structure within a single blob. It appears to me that folder structure is not supported. Also if I try and create and point multiple backup jobs to the same blob container I receive errors saying that remote files detected do not exist in local database.

I was testing the backup with multiple backup files (6) and I was able to successfully take backup for one of my large database (3TB) to my azure storage account by using MAXTRANSFERSIZE, BLOCKSIZE parameters.

Then I tried to restore the database using the multiple files. Since it's a very large database and it takes few hours to restore I tried to run RESTORE FILELISTONLY from URL to verify if I was able to get the list of files. When I ran the RESTORE FILELISTONLY statement I have received the below error

I used SAS key to create the SQL Credential and hence my blobs are block blobs. I have also created access policy on my container with all types of permission exists on the policy (racwdl). The SAS key was generated on the azure portal with 1 year validity. Do I need to provide the read, write permissions while creating the SAS key (which can be achieved only through Azure Storage Explorer).

I found the reason why I was not able to get the list from the backup files. Since I used Ola Hallengren's script to run my backup the files were saved in a sub folder with Instance_name>Database_name>FULL>Backupfile_name. I supposed to provide the actual backup path of the backup file by going into the properties of the backup file and then copy the path from there. Instead I was just copying the container path and then adding the backup file at the end.

Hi All,

I am trying to upload multiple files to blob storage at a single time in an file array to blob storage using API in uipath.(client requirement).

But I am facing issue with the file array to upload.

UiPath.Azure.Activities.UploadBlobFromFile Creates a new blob or updates an existing one from the specified file. Properties Common DisplayName - The display name of the activity. Input BlobAccessTier - Specifies the blob access tier. The possible...

I am able to connect with the blob container but unable to upload multiple files at a time. For example I am having 3 files in a folder I am using collection to store all the files. So now I have to attach the collection in the API to upload the files in the blob container.

while attaching I am unable to do it because there is no type called collection in the propeties panel near attachments in the http request activity.

I had to write some C# downloading multiple blobs from Azure Blob Storage using the Azure.Storage.Blobs NuGet package. To my surprise, no bulk option exists (at least not to my knowledge). Here's a quick summary of how I somewhat achieved this.

As mentioned already, there are no methods to download multiple blobs from Azure Blob Storage using the Azure.Storage.Blobs NuGet package. There's a nice paging API and you can both get all blobs from a container and all blobs with a specified prefix. Common for these methods is that you only fetch metadata about the blobs. Let me illustrate with a simple example to fetch all blobs from a container:

The GetBlobs method returns a list of blob metadata that can be sequentially downloaded using the GetBlobClient method and some streaming magic. As you already know, downloading blobs like this may end up taking a lot of time. Downloading multiple blobs is piece of cake using C#'s Task.WhenAll:

The code uses the Task.WhenAll method to run multiple download tasks in parallel. In my case, I will never need to download more than 30 blobs, why I can add parallel downloading without having to worry about paging, the number of threads, and similar issues. In case you need to download a lot of blobs, check out the AsPages method in the Azure.Pageable class.

That's it. Blobs are now downloaded in parallel. The code is valid for scenarios where you need to download blobs from within a .NET program only. In case you need to download or upload files from the file system, there's a range of different tools to help you. On the command line, I prefer AzCopy and for a Windows app, I'm using Azure Storage Explorer.

The Apache Parquet project provides astandardized open-source columnar storage format for use in data analysissystems. It was created originally for use in Apache Hadoop with systems like Apache Drill, Apache Hive, ApacheImpala, and Apache Spark adopting it as a shared standard for highperformance data IO. 152ee80cbc
