Microsoft Entra Connect Health provides robust monitoring of your on-premises identity infrastructure. It enables you to maintain a reliable connection to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Online Services. This reliability is achieved by providing monitoring capabilities for your key identity components. Also, it makes the key data points about these components easily accessible.

Azure AD Connect is a tool for connecting on-premises identity infrastructure to Microsoft Azure AD. The wizard deploys and configures prerequisites and components required for the connection, including synchronization scheduling and authentication methods.[1] Azure AD Connect encompasses functionality that was previously released as Dirsync and AAD Sync. These tools are no longer being released individually, and all future improvements will be included in updates to Azure AD Connect.[2][3]

With custom settings, the administrator can connect one or multiple Active Directory domains and forests and choose between password hash sync, pass-through authentication, and Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) for authentication. Custom settings also allows the administrator to choose sync options such as password reset write back and Exchange hybrid deployments.

The two sync applications offer overlapping but not identical functionality. In particular, Azure AD Connect cloud sync supports synchronizing from a multi-forest disconnected Active Directory environment (useful particularly in merger & acquisition scenarios) and using multiple provisioning agents (which can simplify high availability environments). However, unlike Azure AD Connect, it does not support either writeback or synchronization of customer-defined AD attributes.

i'm looking for something that logs when an admin has, for example, made a change to the sync, such as adding or removing an OU from the sync scope, manually triggering an initial or delta sync, opening the admin tools or opening the connectors in edit mode?

i am seeing a lot of clients systems whereby AAD Connect spends a lot of its time complaining about the need for an initial sync, I suspect a lot of these cases are where an admin has opened the sync and OK'd, or even cancelled out, but it seems to have marked the connector as changed.

if it relies on logging to event viewer only, then is there any guidance or documentation (i haven't managed to find any) to identify which event IDs would correlate to the above activities, trawling the logs so far i havent found anything identifying when a connector has been changed or, frankly, when an admin has opened or used the tools (MIISClient or Azure AD Connect app/tool)

I assume by setting the rules on the AAD connect will stop any changed pushed to Azure AD thus keeping users and passwords on Azure AD and not soft deleting them? and once cloud Sync kicks in it just takes over.

I tried using the new Azure AD Cloud sync but I don't see a way to connect and match the users since I use a .local domain. I already have my users in Azure Active Directory and when I tried to do a provision with the cloud sync to see if it would detect the existing user it created a new one with a .onmicrosoft.com user principle name and not the domain.com name. I looked more closely at the documentation and it looks like you can't use cloud sync if you are using .local on your domain.

Next, I set up a server to run Azure AD connect sync and went through a video to set it because I saw some examples online showing you could do this. However, just before I finished the setup I saw on the video the provisioning using that method also created a .onmicrosoft.com user and not a .com one.

As others have stated, it's all about the UPN. If the UPN matches your Azure AD tenancy you are golden. For example, company.local and company.com. Assuming your azure tenancy is company.com, either change UPN of Azure AD sync'ed resources to @company.com or you can leave them alone assuming they don't need to work with anything internet facing. Those will get @onmicrosoft labels in Azure.

What it appears I am seeing here is I can go to Active Directory Domains and Trusts and add an alternative UPN. Then I can go in to the users account and change their new UPN to the .com. That will then allow me to sync with AD connect.

Citrix Cloud includes an Azure AD app that allows Citrix Cloud to connect with Azure AD without the need for you to be logged in to an active Azure AD session. Since the introduction of this app, Citrix released updates that improve performance and support new features and permissions.

If you have an existing Azure AD connection to Citrix Cloud and want to use the latest updated app, you need to update your Azure AD connection in Citrix Cloud. For more information, see Reconnect to Azure AD for the updated app in this article. If you choose not to update the app, your existing connection continues to function normally.

This article describes how to connect your Azure AD as an identity provider to a single Citrix Cloud account. If you have multiple Citrix Cloud accounts, you can connect each one to the same Azure AD tenant. Perform the following tasks:

When connecting your Citrix Cloud account to your Azure AD, Citrix Cloud needs permission to access your user profile (or the profile of the signed-in user) in addition to the basic profiles of the users in your Azure AD. Citrix requests this permission so it can acquire your name and email address (as the administrator) and enable you to browse for other users and add them as administrators later. For more information about the application permissions that Citrix Cloud requests, see Azure Active Directory permissions for Citrix Cloud.

Citrix Cloud includes an Azure AD app that allows Citrix Cloud to connect with Azure AD without the need for you to be logged in to an active Azure AD session. Since the introduction of this app, Citrix has updated the app as follows:

If you connected your Azure AD to Citrix Cloud before these updates were released and you want to use the latest updated app, you need to disconnect your Azure AD from Citrix Cloud and then reconnect it. Using the latest app is optional. If you choose not to update the app, your existing connection still functions normally.

By using Oracle FastConnect and Azure ExpressRoute, customers can seamlessly build a private interconnection between their OCI and Microsoft Azure environments. The interconnect also enables joint customers to take advantage of a unified identity and access management platform that leads to cost savings. Cloud engineers can set up single sign-on (SSO) between Microsoft Azure and OCI for their Oracle applications, such as PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and E-Business Suite. Having a federated SSO makes the integration seamless and lets users authenticate only once to access multiple applications, without signing in separately to access each application.

With Oracle Interconnect for Azure, customers can access tested, validated, and supported deployments for packaged, cloud native, custom, and third-party applications to assist with ongoing innovation while leveraging current environments. The traffic between Azure and Oracle Cloud flows directly through the private physical connection with round-trip latency of about two milliseconds. Customers can further restrict the flow of traffic by using network security groups (NSGs) and security lists.

Oracle Interconnect for Azure offers a seamless issue resolution process that can be initiated through Microsoft or Oracle when an issue is encountered. For customers who have Oracle software licenses and support, Oracle delivers support directly to customers who are running Oracle software on Windows Server Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure. As additional services are launched because of this partnership, more details on the support model will be shared.

Explore the Oracle Interconnect for Azure networking use cases to support multicloud connectivity. Microsoft and Oracle have copublished several solutions to assist multicloud customers using the interconnect and to enable network connectivity using validated patterns.

To enable customers to deploy an effective DR architecture, Oracle is working toward providing more than one interconnect region in each geographic region, such as US East and US West in North America. Every interconnect circuit (ExpressRoute and FastConnect) comes with a redundant circuit on the same POP but a different physical router, providing high availability.

You can pay for usage of GitHub features through Azure by connecting an Azure Subscription ID to your organization account on GitHub.com. For more information about organization accounts, see "About organizations."

You must be logged into Azure as a user who is able to provide tenant-wide admin consent, which is required to install GitHub's Subscription Permission Validation app on the Azure AD tenant. The app requires read access to display a list of available subscriptions, and is only used during this one-time process of connecting the Azure subscription. For more information, see Grant tenant-wide admin consent to an application in Microsoft Docs.

Under "Select a subscription", select the Azure Subscription ID that you want to connect to your enterprise. To select an Azure subscription, you must have owner permissions to the subscription. If the default tenant does not have the right permissions, you may need to specify a different tenant ID. For more information, see "Prerequisites" and Microsoft identity platform and OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow in Microsoft Docs. 17dc91bb1f
