Backstory:
How did it begin?
Azalo-X was born in an imbalanced universe; though he couldn’t control it, he was stuck in it. For his first 14 years, Azalo-X lived on a farm with his family: mother, father, and two brothers. For Azalo-X’s entire life, he has believed in the “Fallen hero” and how he will rebalance the universe when born. Soon to figure out the myth was a lie.
Azalo-X’s family was ambushed in the middle of the night by the ripper, a powerful corrupted entity known for mass killings. Azalo-X could only hide as he heard his family being torn apart and brutalized. As the ripper found him, Azalo-X felt only rage. He watched his entire family die after all. After 2 hours, the ripper was dead, Azalo-X covered in blood with the ripper's claws in Azalo-X’s own hands, used against the ripper. Azalo-X looks over the blood-stained farm he once lived on. They were all dead. Azalo-X began to travel, steadily learning how to craft and create weaponry with his acquired materials. Azalo-X soon found himself fighting the fallen, a failed knight. Azalo-X made quick work with his new weaponry and skills. After around 2 days of mass murder of any hollow or corrupted being he found, the paladin encountered Azalo-X. “Stand down and pay your crimes in full,” The paladin announces to Azalo-X. “There are no crimes.” Azalo-X responds before beginning to fight the paladin.
As the fight reaches its peak, the Paladin's armor releases a column of energy to commence his second phase. Soon enough, Azalo-X had killed the paladin, though heavily injured. Azalo-X takes the Paladin's hammer and continues his universe-wide crusade.
The hydra
. With Azalo-X’s new weaponry after a month of collecting and crafting, he sought a powerful and destructive being: the hydra. Azalo-X entered its domain, instantly dodging a large fireball being hurled at it. Azalo-X summons a small army of minions before lunging toward the hydra. As the battle drags on, Azalo-X takes a lethal hit from the hydra's shadow flames and is forced to retreat and fight another day.
Azalo-X returns 4 days later, with newly found healing magic due to raiding a nature temple. The fight dragged on for the same time, Azalo-X using an ice staff to negate the shadow flames and finally kill the hydra. Using the Hydra's claws and other parts, Azalo-X made a scythe imbued with shadow flames.
A myth
Azalo-X quickly gains power, perfecting his forms and crafting till he needs to fight ATLAS, a powerful barrier of the imbalance universe. During the legendary battle, ATLAS informs Azalo-X that the myth of the “Fallen Hero” was never true, only to give false hope to those who needed it. Azalo-X swiftly kills ATLAS out of rage, and Azalo-X takes the titanstone and walks off. He's broken again; his entire source of hope is… a lie. Azalo-X then decided HE would be the Fallen Hero.
Azalo-X enters hard mode, instantly fighting enemies of the holy and unholy, angelic and void alike.
Over 3 months pass, Azalo-X now wields hoards of godly weaponry and takes down powerful foes like Uriel and Beelzebub. Soon, Azalo-X learns of the Equinox cultists, their plans to bring back the consumer of reality, with more to come.
Bright darkness
, Azalo-X uses his sigil to transport himself to the cultist base, his summons and weapons in hand. As he enters Azalo-X is quickly ambushed, barely holding on even though the cult’s strength. As Azalo-X rips through rooms, suddenly the Equinox praetor encounters him. The powerful soldier makes quick work of Azalo-X and his summons. Azalo-X wakes in a cage dangling near the leader of this strange cult, Alrasid, the Archbishop of the Equinox. “Why are you trying to destroy reality itself!?” Azalo-X questions in rage. “Well, ‘Fallen Hero’. You destroyed the last barrier of the light and the dark, being ATLAS. Due to that, I decided the only way to rebalance is a fresh start. Now self-proclaimed ‘Fallen Hero’, let us not delay the inevitable any further.” Azalo-X uses his newly acquired All Void to slice himself out of the cage, preparing to fight the archbishop. The fight commences, Azalo-X using his summons and weapons to make short work of Alrasid. Alrasid uses powerful Equinox magic to nearly kill Azalo-X. Soon, Azalo-X’s seraph and eldritch summons are killed as Alrasid summons the arbiter. Azalo-X desperately tries to survive, his armor shattering under the power of Alrasid and the arbiter combined. Azalo-X stabs the All Void into the arbiter, releasing every last bit of power it had into the beast to finally kill it. “I'm impressed, though. You’ll be erased in the name of Gilgamesh.” Alrasid chants before firing many high-tier Equinox spells. After only 2 minutes, Azalo-X had killed Alrasid; the mage had forgotten Azalo-X’s… crafty nature. “You are too late, you will now be transported to your doom,” Alrasid says with his last breath. Azalo-X quickly crafts a new sword from Alrasid’s armor, as well as upgrading his summon somehow. Azalo-X uses the new summoning sigil, a quite powerful-looking equinox praetor appearing behind him. “I heed thy call. Greetings, master. I am Twilight, the strongest of the Equinox warriors, and a forgotten legend.” Twilight recites. “Yeah, cool. We're fighting Gilgamesh in a second.” Azalo-X reminds.
Gilgamesh, the Consumer of Reality
Azalo-X, and Twilight are transported to a fractured version of the overworld, everything falling apart and shattering like glass. With a bright flash of light, Gilgamesh appears. "The forces of light and darkness have been at war ever since Lord Astaroth and his Legion set foot in this dimension. To compete, stand this dimension, trying to stop it. Numerous battles between the two lead to the destruction of the world, with many corrupted spirits serving as servants, mindlessly attacking anyone they see. In the midst of raging wars, one hero believed in something a long time ago. A hero, to be yourself.” Gilgamesh announces telepathically. Azalo-X stands there, unsure if he should attack. Suddenly, Twilight and Azalo-X are hit by a train; it appears from… nothing? Azalo-X fires an equinox crossbow into Gilgamesh’s pincers, forcing them closed to prevent a reality tear. Mini consumerites swarm twilight, the equinox praetor quickly making work and hitting Gilgamesh with a reality flux to lower its defense.
Azalo-X appears above Gilgamesh for a powerful slam into its back with the equinox slicer. Gilgamesh summons many umbral tendrils to stall them as it brings its legs up for a reality tear. Azalo-X holds up with wind dancer, gliding along the attack and parrying it perfectly. Twilight stabilizes himself before slashing straight through Gilgamesh, leaving a large scar. Gilgamesh suddenly summons a large black hole, pulling everything towards it. Azalo-X uses his equinox sword to summon a storm of slashes as Twilight reflects the pull. Azalo-X tears one of Gilgamesh's fangs off, Gilga using its leg to throw Azalo-X away as consumers swarm Twilight again. Azalo-X reels back the fang, trying to control its sheer amount of energy before slashing the air, tearing reality itself along the edge. The consumerities clear from the slash, though Gilgamesh is unfazed. “Twilight, we can't kill Gilgamesh normally. We need to overload its own body to destroy itself.” Azalo-X announces to Twilight, the knight, who gets the memo instantly and throws both his swords into Gilgamesh’s mouth, triggering a reality waltz. Azalo-X throws an equinox royal flush and blade into Gilgamesh as well, forcing the spider to absorb and attempt to stabilize the sheer energy gain. Soon, Gilgamesh’s body explodes outward, releasing every bit of energy it had been consuming and leaving Azalo-X on the verge of death. As the energy evens out, Azalo-X can hear someone talking to him. “I am impressed you managed to beat it. You might want to look out for other adversaries if you still have not beaten them yet. Defeating Gilgamesh might have given you the strength to crush your foes easily, but you are not invulnerable. You might as well try using a new ‘Life’ if you are somewhat feeling dissatisfied with your current ‘Progress’. Once the time comes, I'll be waiting for you.” Azalo-X hears that he's sent back to his home in the overworld to process it all.
Not quite the end
. Today, Azalo-X stands on the same farm destroyed long ago, his journey to balance his universe not completed. Through his loss, Azalo-X knew he was the true pinnacle of the universe. Every possible god he fought led to victory, though the bloodshed, many remain grateful. Though one final benchmark remains, a being beyond the power of even Azalo-X. The Architect.
