Biographical Sketch
Dr. Aziz Darouichi is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Cadi Ayyad University, Marrakech. He currently serves as the Engineering Program Coordinator for Network and Information Systems Engineering, a role he has held since 2022.
He earned his MSc in Computational Modeling and Scientific Informatics (Génie MIS), and his Ph.D. in Applied Sciences (Applied Mathematics and Computer Science) from the Mohammadia School of Engineering (EMI) at Mohammed V University in Rabat in 2009. His doctoral research, funded by the CNRST (Morocco) and the Volkswagen Foundation (Germany), focused on Scientific Informatics, Computational Modeling, and Simulation.
Dr. Darouichi’s research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision, with a strong focus on precision medicine, remote sensing and cybersecurity applications. He has contributed extensively to these fields through peer-reviewed journal publications, conference papers, and book chapters.
He is actively involved in the international research community as a reviewer and editorial board member for several scientific journals. He also regularly serves on technical program committees for major international conferences in artificial intelligence and applications.
In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Darouichi has supervised numerous Ph.D. and master’s students on topics related to deep learning, medical image analysis, and cybersecurity. His mentorship has supported research on critical applications such as cancer detection, Alzheimer’s diagnosis, and intelligent intrusion detection systems.
Dr. Darouichi has also engaged in international academic collaborations, including postdoctoral research at INRIA Saclay and research visits to institutions in France, Germany, and Tunisia.
