April 28, 2018 in Mayer, AZ
Helen Hyatt, our Northern Region Chair, has organized an exciting day for us at Arcosanti. The following is the schedule and list of events for the day. Please register for this by April 1st and they need to prepare for us in advance.
The Silt Casting Workshop consists of a three hour seminar (one hour for the plaster to dry). During the workshop, participants get to explore their creativity through the traditional silt casting process, the same process used to build the majority of structures at Arcosanti. After two hours of creating the silt bed with colored pigments and simples tools, participants will get to cast a thin layer of plaster over the silt, which will sit and dry. After drying and washing off the silt, the hand crafted plaster silt-casted tiles can be taken home.
Lunch at Cafe
The Cafe at Arcosanti, located in the visitor center, features a spacious atrium dining area with spectacular high desert views and an all you can eat buffet style meal which accommodates vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

On the tour, you will explore the grounds, get a detailed history of the project, and begin to understand the Ethos of our work here. Tours are the only way visitors can see the whole site.
