LAKSHANA
Fever that occurs due to vitiation of Vata and pitta Dosha exhibits following symptoms:
- Shiro ruk – Headache
- Parvanam bheda – breaking pain in fingers and toes
- Daha – burning sensation
- Romanam Praharshanam – horripilation
- Kanthasya shosho – dryness of throat
- Aruchi – anorexia
- Swapna nasha – sleeplessness
- Ati Vak – excessive talk and
- Vijrumbha – Yawning
TRETMENT
1. Caraka, prescribed the following line of treatment in the diseases, caused by the two doshés like Vata-pitta, etc.
"Keeping in view the tara and tama (i.e. relative aggravation) of vitiation of dosés or their equal vitiation in jvara should be treated with appropriate drugs/procedures keeping in view the iine of treatment prescribed for each dosa"
2. Mixed treatment as described in Vita jvara and Pitta jvara. Rasédi vati and mrityunjaya rasa are recommended in this type of fever.
3. 'Drakshadi phant' is also useful in Vata pitta jvara.
4. Diet (Pathya)Didima, amlaka, and Mudga yt'isa i.e. soup of green gram is very useful.
