SWEDAVAHASROTAS – CHANNELS CARRYING SWEAT
Sushruta has not explained Swedavahasrotas
According to Charaka –
The roots of SwedaVahaSrotas or channels carrying the sweat are located in –
Meda (fat tissue) – Sweda is considered to be the excreta of Meda or fat
Loma Koopa – Minute pores of the skin located around the base of hair follicles of the skin
SYMPTOMS
THE SYMPTOMS OF CONTAMINATION OF SWEDAVAHASROTAS ARE:
Aswedanam – Lack of sweating
AtiSwedanam – Excessive sweating
Parushyam – Roughness of the skin
Atishlakshnata – Excessive smoothness of the skin
Paridaha – Burning sensation
Lomaharsha – Horripilation
CAUSES OF VITIATION OF SWEDAVAHASROTAS –
Vyaayaama – excessive exercise
Atisantaapaat – exposure to heat
Sheetaushnaakramasevanaat – non-judicious intake of cold and hot foods and comforts, at a time
Krodha – excessive anger
Shoka – excessive grief
Bhaya – excessive fear
MANAGEMENT OF VITIATION OF SWEDAVAHA
The vitiation of Swedavahasrotas should be managed on lines of treatment of Jwara (fever)
