I have a strong passion for teaching and learning, and I chose to study in this program as I believe utilizing technology as part of my instruction is helping me better serve my students and make learning more engaging and fun!

My Goals for Program
My Goals for Program
I made my decision to start graduate studies in Instructional Technology in Spring 2019, and have been enjoying my studies so far. I am planning to complete my degree requirements and hopefully graduate by the end of 2020! My ultimate goal is to use the skills I gained in this program in a higher education setting both as an instructor or an instructional designer.

Teaching is my passion! I decided that I want to become an ESL teacher when I was just a high school student in Turkey back in 2003. Since then, my whole educational and career background have been focused entirely on teaching ESL both in Turkey and in the United States.

When I was searching for masters degree programs to study in 2019, I was undecided whether to further my knowledge and expertise in Teaching English as a Second Language or start a brand new program that would allow me to improve as a better educator with new skills. I am so glad that I went for the second option and got to experience what the Instructional Technology program here at CSUSB has to offer. The knowledge and skills I gained through this program will definitely guide me in my journey as an educator. I believe utilizing technology to enhance teaching is a top skill that every educator must possess now more than ever, and that idea has been and will continue to be my main motivation.
