My long-term review of the Asus ROG Ally
The ROG Ally was released in 2023 with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and a Radeon 780M. I picked one up in July 2025 for £450 (£520 including accessories). It is very fast and responsive and scored 2443 and 11355 in Geekbench 6 single/multi core and 31273 in Geekbench 6 OpenCL. However recently there has been joystick drift on the right stick. I mainly use this with Windows as my main PC with a monitor, keyboard and mouse at a desk and it works really well. The battery life is between 3-5 hours in normal use and 1-2 hours in gaming, not mind-blowing but not bad for a small 40Wh (2590mAh) battery. It is not very comfortable to hold for long periods of time. I've used this PC/console for 6 months and I would say this is a good buy if you find it for £350-£400. In terms of a review I would rate it 80%/4 stars/ 8/10 /whatever because it is very good to use but not very practical.
