1. Introduction
Ayahfy: Quran & Pray Times ("the App", "we", "us") is a Quran application developed by BitTech Global. It lets you read and listen to the Quran, view translations, and receive prayer time reminders.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, why, and how it is handled. By using the App, you agree to this policy. It applies to the Android version of the App distributed through Google Play.
2. Information We Collect
The App does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or files.
Approximate location. With your permission, the App uses your approximate (coarse) location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your area. Location is used only while the App is in use. It is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers. We never access precise or background location.
App settings and preferences. Your bookmarks, last read position, selected reciter, translation, prayer calculation method and notification settings are stored locally on your device only.
Technical information. The App checks network connectivity to stream or download recitation audio and content. When the App requests audio or text files from our content servers, those servers may receive standard technical data such as your IP address and device type, as with any internet request. This data is used only to deliver the content.
3. Permissions We Use
The App requests only the permissions needed for its features. You can revoke runtime permissions at any time in your device settings.
Permission and Why the App uses it
Internet : Stream Quran recitations and download translations, tafsir and audio files.
Network state: Check connectivity before streaming or downloading, and switch to offline content when no connection is available.
Approximate location: Calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your area. Optional: you can set your city manually instead.
Foreground service (media playback): Keep Quran recitation playing when the App is in the background or the screen is off, with playback controls in a notification.
Notifications: Show prayer time reminders, daily verse reminders and the media playback control.
Exact alarms: Deliver prayer time reminders at the exact calculated time.
Run at startup: Re-schedule prayer time reminders after the device restarts.
Vibration: Vibrate the device for reminders, based on your settings.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
• Provide the App's core features: reading, listening, prayer times and Qibla direction
• Deliver reminders you have turned on
• Keep the App working reliably and fix problems
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not use it for profiling or targeted advertising.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following third-party services. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:
• Google Play Services
• Firebase Crashlytics / Analytics — anonymous crash reports and usage statistics, if enabled
• Google AdMob — advertising, if the App shows ads
Remove any service above that the App does not use. Audio and text content is served from [content server / API provider].
6. Data Storage, Retention and Security
Your settings, bookmarks and downloaded content are stored only on your device. They remain until you delete them in the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
All connections between the App and our content servers use encrypted HTTPS. We do not keep personal data on our servers.
7. Your Choices and Rights
• Location: deny or revoke location access and enter your city manually instead.
• Notifications and alarms: turn reminders off in the App or in your device settings.
• Delete your data: clear the App's data in device settings or uninstall the App. This removes everything the App stored on your device.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access or delete personal data. Contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
