About the Awards:

The aim of African Women in Trade awards is to recognise the exceptional role each nominee has relentlessly played in contributing to the economy in their country through their products or services.  

The awards gala evening is organised to give due recognition to African women in the trade industry. 

This is the opportunity to also  encourage women entrepreneurs to realize their potential both in the continent and globally. The number of African women-owned businesses that are involved in Import and Export of goods and services is noticeably increasing tremendously.

According to UN Women report, it is estimated that 70 per cent of cross border traders in Africa are women, making African women an economic growth accelerator of Africa’s economy.

The reports show that, the proportion of African women-owned small-to-medium-sized enterprises exporting is also increasing in value.

Despite several environmental challenges and minimal reserves of funding available for women businesses, African women advancement, continues to increase the value of export revenue, GBP in trading, and the growth of regional and global markets.

Categories are as follows:

🎖️The Africa Women in Trade "of the year Award"

This award will be nominated by AWT official . 

🎖️Intra Africa Trader Award

This will be given to a woman or youth who have managed to trade in several countries in the Africa Continent. Their products or services must be made in Africa.

🎖️Global Trader Award

This will be given to a woman or youth who have managed to trade globally in several countries. Products or services must be made in Africa and should be of good quality value adding as well.

🎖️Youth Trader Award

This will be given to a  youth who have managed to successfully trade within the continent of Africa with other several countries (Intra-trade) in the  continent of Africa. Products or services must be made in Africa.

🎖️Trade Services  Award

This award will be given to the businesses that offer Services eg. Tourism, Banking systems,Government Institutions, Design, Fitness,Health Care, Hospitality, Retail trade, media,Entertainment

Trade businesses.

🎖️Network Award 

This will go to Organisation / Network that supports Africa  women in Business or with their Trade.
