AWAKEN THE ATLAS

Awaken The Atlas is a new and independent symphonic metal band from Sweden. Their self produced sound mix melodic heavy metal with the grand musical palette of the symphony orchestra. Heavy riffs accompaniment heroic horns and the music may contrast between romantic strings and growling blast beats.

Conceptual story

Their music takes you on a journey to a haunted opera house in 19th-century Europe to tell a gothic horror story about love, betrayal and vicious vengeance. The story starts with the EP “Rebuilt From Ashes” (2024) and continues with "Nocturnal Reflections (2025). The final songs that concludes the story arrives in 2026 as a part of an album that also collects the two released EP's.

The story in “Rebuilt From Ashes”

In a haunted 19th century Europe, Francis Solomon the exorcist is summoned to a town still deeply scarred by a tragic fire nine years ago. The newly rebuilt opera house has come under the influence of an evil spirit that threatens the inauguration concerto within three nights. Trained in the mystic arts by romanian monks and armed with the holy cross Francis is confident in his cause. He is shown to the opera by the mayor himself. An anxious orchestra, led by the conductor Victor, is rehearsing for the concert. Something stirs in the shadows of the dark balcony. The evil spirit appears and panic ensues.

NOCTURNAL REFLECTIONS (EP 2025)

The story in “Nocturnal Reflections”

This EP continues the story started on "Rebuilt From Ashes" 2024.

The second night at the opera starts with Francis searching for the evil spirit and reflecting on his past. The wraith soon returns and once again stirs panic in the orchestra. We learn of the conductor’s lost love and an ambitious violinist who tells Francis were he can find the clues to the identity of the ghost who haunts the opera.
