In the long painstaking months of the pandemic in 2020, I felt the need to pick up a hobby besides TikTok. So I tried knitting, but that didn't work out. Then I tried crocheting... and that also didn't work out. At least not at first...
Eventually, I gave up on both and continued with my life. However, when I found myself living in O'ahu in my second year of college, I was completely stressed out and needed a way to release my stress and focus on something besides my job and school work. That's when I rediscovered knitting and crocheting.
When I picked up knitting needles again, I was better at it, but it didn't feel right. So, I gave up. However, when I picked up a crochet hook, something clicked.
So at the start of January 2023, I found myself unable to put down my crochet hook. I just kept crocheting more and more. I started with granny squares, then found myself making amigurumi. Once I felt more confident, I began to create clothes, bags, and accessories.
Now crocheting is more than a hobby! It's an escape from the stresses of my life, a venue for making new friends and connections, but most importantly, it is something I just love to do.
I especially want to thank my partner in crime, my boyfriend, Kekoa. Without him, I wouldn't have gotten the motivation and courage to get back into crocheting. Or even just start a hobby in general!
Thank you for all your love and support! I really don't know what I'd do without you!
I also want to thank my family and friends. The constant love and support always keep me motivated to crochet! Even when I'm on the brink of insanity.
Thank you for all your love and support! I truly love and appreciate all of you!
