Effective Date: August 14, 2025
Thank you for choosing AviatorWx. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use our mobile application.
User-Provided Information:
Home Airport: During onboarding, we ask you to provide a primary airport ICAO code. This is stored locally on your device to personalize your home screen.
Saved Data: Your saved aircraft profiles, airport groups, and flight routes are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
Automatically Collected Information (for Premium Features):
Expo Push Token: When you use the premium weather alert feature for the first time, the app will ask for your permission to send notifications. If you grant permission, we collect your unique Expo Push Token. This token is an anonymous identifier for your device and is required to send you the push notifications you configure. It is not linked to your personal identity.
Anonymous User ID: When you use our app, we generate a unique, anonymous user identifier through our backend service, Supabase. This ID is not linked to your personal identity, name, or email, but it is required to enable core features like saving your weather alert preferences and managing your "AviatorWx Pro" subscription.
In-App Purchases:
When you subscribe to AviatorWx Pro, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via our payment processor, RevenueCat. We do not collect or store any of your payment information, such as credit card numbers. We only receive an anonymous confirmation that a purchase has been made.
Analytics Data :
To understand how users interact with our Service and to improve its performance, we use Google Analytics for Firebase. This service collects anonymous data, which may include:
Usage Data: Information about the features you use, screens you view, and buttons you tap within the app.
Device Information: Your device's model, operating system version, and general geographic location (e.g., country).
Advertising Identifier: An anonymous, user-resettable identifier is collected to help us measure the performance of our advertising campaigns.
This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide the core functionality of the app, such as displaying weather data for your chosen airports.
Send you the specific weather alert push notifications that you configure (Premium feature).
Manage your subscription status (Premium vs. Free).
Improve and maintain the application.
Important: AviatorWx stores all user-created data, including your airport groups, saved routes, and aircraft profiles, directly on your device. This data is not stored in the cloud or linked to a user account.
If you uninstall the application, this locally stored data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Your premium weather alert settings are stored on our servers via Supabase and are associated with your anonymous push token. This data is also deleted if you disable the alert or uninstall the app.
We use the following third-party services to operate our app:
RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. This service handles the communication with the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to verify your premium status. You can view RevenueCat's privacy policy here.
Supabase: We use Supabase to securely store your Expo Push Token and the alert settings you create. This is necessary to check for new weather conditions and send you a notification when your criteria are met. You can view Supabase's privacy policy here.
Expo: We use Expo's Push Notification service to deliver alerts to your device. You can view Expo's privacy policy here.
