When Avia was nine years old, she finally understood the terrible things her father did to people and magical beasts. She began to despise her father, even though he was always good to her. Something like that is unforgivable.

On Avia's 11th birthday, she receives her Hogwarts letter and eagerly looks forward to starting her new life at the school. Throughout the years, she forms a close friendship with Ominis Gaunt and Poppy, as they are the only ones who do not find her strange and whom she trusts completely. In her third year, Avia discovers she possesses ancient magic and learns more about Charles Rookwood. With the help of Professor Fig, she finds the map chamber and gains insight into how to use her magic for various purposes. During holidays, Avia either stays at Hogwarts or visits Poppy's grandmother's house. Despite dealing with situations involving Ranrok and her father, Avia is determined to prevent Ranrok from acquiring magic. Her father, Victor Rookwood, becomes aware of her plan and tries to persuade her to join his side, but she refuses as she aims to protect the wizarding world. In 1891, Avia kills her father, mourning him but recognizing the necessity of her actions.
