If you want a robust audio adapter that doubles as high-fidelity earbuds for travel and home use, choose Avantree Relay & Clan; if you need lightweight, sport-ready wireless buds with smart case controls for active lifestyles, choose RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds.
• Avantree Relay & Clan: Best for travelers and commuters who need to connect to non-Bluetooth devices like airplanes and TVs, featuring aptX-Adaptive support and hybrid ANC, though it lacks the ultra-lightweight form factor needed for intense running.
• RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: Best for athletes and daily users seeking an IPX5 waterproof design, Bluetooth 5.4 stability, and a unique touch-screen charging case, though it cannot function as an external audio transmitter for legacy equipment.
• The Verdict: Pick Avantree if your priority is versatile connectivity and high-quality transmission; pick RAOPINGX if you prioritize secure fit, battery life for sports, and intuitive touch controls on the case itself.
The Avantree Relay & Clan N1 occupies a unique niche in the audio world because it is not just a pair of earbuds; it is a dual-purpose system designed to bridge the gap between old-school analog connections and modern wireless convenience. The core strength here is its "Relay" functionality. This device acts as a powerful Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into any AUX port, whether that is the headphone jack on an airplane seat, a gym treadmill console, or a living room television. This makes it an essential tool for anyone who hates the frustration of trying to find a Bluetooth signal on older equipment. Once connected to the source, it streams audio to the included earbuds using Bluetooth 5.3 technology, ensuring a stable link even when moving around.
For the user who values audio fidelity during transit, the inclusion of aptX-Adaptive codec support is a significant differentiator. Unlike standard Bluetooth transmissions that often compress audio heavily, this feature allows for high-quality audio streaming with low latency. When paired with compatible listening devices, the sound remains crisp and synchronized, which is critical for watching movies on planes or following workout instructions on gym machines without annoying delays. The Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) further enhances this experience by blocking up to 24dB of environmental noise, creating a quiet bubble even in noisy cabins or busy terminals.
However, this versatility comes with specific trade-offs regarding its physical form and intended use cases. While the earbuds themselves are functional for music and calls, they are primarily engineered as an extension of the Relay dongle rather than standalone true wireless earbuds optimized for high-intensity movement. They lack the specific ergonomic shaping and extreme lightness required for serious jogging or marathon training. If your primary goal is to run outdoors where sweat resistance and a secure, barely-there fit are paramount, these might feel too bulky or heavy compared to dedicated sports models. Additionally, while the transparency mode allows you to hear surroundings, the design is more focused on stationary listening or slow walking rather than the dynamic balance needed for fast-paced cardio.
This product is ideal for the frequent flyer, the home theater enthusiast, or the gym-goer who needs to listen to audio from equipment that doesn't have built-in Bluetooth. It is also perfect for anyone who wants one device to solve multiple connectivity headaches across different environments. Conversely, if you are looking strictly for the best clip-on earbuds for jogging or a headset designed solely for high-impact sports where every gram matters, you should skip this option in favor of a model built specifically for that motion.

The RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds are engineered from the ground up to be a standalone, all-day companion for mobile users who demand both performance and convenience. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the smart touch-screen charging case. In a market flooded with simple LED indicators, this device allows you to adjust volume, skip tracks, take calls, set alarms, and locate your earbuds directly from the case screen without ever touching your phone. This level of control is transformative for users who want seamless management of their audio experience, especially when their hands are full or when they prefer not to unlock their devices constantly.
From a physical durability standpoint, these earbuds are built for the active lifestyle. Weighing only 5.2 grams per earbud, they are incredibly light, reducing ear fatigue during long sessions. More importantly, they carry an IPX5 waterproof rating, making them resistant to sweat and rain. This specification is crucial for anyone planning to use them for vigorous exercise. The ergonomic design has been tested extensively to ensure a secure fit, meaning they stay in place even when you are jumping, sprinting, or sweating heavily. This makes them a strong contender for those searching for the best kids headset for jogging, as the secure fit and durable build can withstand the rough-and-tumble nature of children's activities, while also serving adults well during commutes or workouts.
The audio performance is backed by Bluetooth 5.4, which offers faster pairing and stronger anti-interference capabilities over a range of up to 33 feet. This is particularly useful in crowded areas like subways, malls, or busy offices where Wi-Fi and other Bluetooth signals create a chaotic environment. The 13mm drivers deliver powerful bass and clear vocals, complemented by five custom EQ modes that let you tailor the sound to your preference, whether you are listening to heavy metal, classical, or podcasts. The Hybrid ANC combined with ENC technology ensures that your calls remain crystal clear even in noisy settings, effectively canceling out ambient distractions while preserving the clarity of your voice.
While the RAOPINGX earbuds excel in mobility and smart features, they do not offer the same external transmitter capabilities as the Avantree system. They are designed to connect directly to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and do not function as an auxiliary adapter for non-Bluetooth devices like older TVs or airplane seats. If your primary use case involves connecting to legacy hardware that lacks wireless capability, these will not solve that problem. However, for anyone whose focus is on personal listening, sports, and smart control, the combination of lightweight comfort, waterproofing, and the innovative touch-screen case makes this a superior choice for daily wear and tear.
• Best for battery life → RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: With an average life of 5 hours per charge and a quick 1-hour charge time, these are ready for long workdays or commutes without constant interruption.
• Best for legacy device compatibility → Avantree Relay & Clan: Only the Avantree system can act as a transmitter to play audio from non-Bluetooth sources like airplanes, TVs, and gym consoles.
• Best for sports and running → RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: The 5.2g weight and IPX5 waterproof rating make these significantly better suited for jogging and high-sweat activities than the Avantree.
• Best for smart case control → RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: The touch-screen case allows for track skipping, volume adjustment, and alarm setting without needing to access your phone.
• Best for high-fidelity transmission → Avantree Relay & Clan: The aptX-Adaptive codec support ensures lower latency and higher quality audio when transmitting from a source device.
• Best for crowded environments → RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: Bluetooth 5.4 provides a stronger connection and better anti-interference performance in dense signal areas like subways.
• Best for travel adapters → Avantree Relay & Clan: Includes dual 3.5mm adapters to ensure usability on any flight regardless of the connector type.
• Best for customization → RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds: Offers five distinct EQ modes to optimize sound for various genres and personal preferences.
After weighing the specifications and real-world applications of both options, I would personally buy the RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds for my own daily routine. While the Avantree Relay & Clan is a fascinating piece of engineering that solves the age-old problem of connecting to non-Bluetooth devices, the RAOPINGX earbuds simply offer a more complete and modern user experience for the vast majority of listeners. The combination of Bluetooth 5.4 stability, the revolutionary touch-screen case, and the lightweight, IPX5-rated design makes them the clear winner for anyone who uses headphones for commuting, working, and exercising. Specifically, if you are looking for the best fast charging wireless headset for jogging or a reliable pair of buds for active use, the RAOPINGX model is the one to get. Its focus on ergonomics and smart control aligns perfectly with how people actually use earbuds today, whereas the Avantree feels more like a specialized tool for specific travel scenarios.
The RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds are excellent for jogging due to their 5.2g lightweight design and IPX5 waterproof rating, which handles sweat and rain effectively. The Avantree Relay & Clan is less suitable for intense running as it is heavier and designed primarily for stationary listening or travel.
Only the Avantree Relay & Clan can do this. It functions as a Bluetooth transmitter that connects to any AUX output, allowing you to stream audio to the earbuds from non-Bluetooth devices. The RAOPINGX earbuds require a direct Bluetooth connection to a phone or tablet.
Both feature Hybrid ANC, but the RAOPINGX adds ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) specifically for clearer call quality. The RAOPINGX also includes four distinct noise cancellation modes switchable from the case, offering slightly more versatility for different environments.
Yes, the RAOPINGX TWS Earbuds come with a smart touch-screen case that lets you manage volume, tracks, and alarms directly on the case. The Avantree case features a battery display but does not offer the same level of interactive touch control for media playback.
