If you want a wired, Lightning-connected solution with hybrid ANC specifically for your iPhone ecosystem and need crystal clear calls on the go, choose Avantree L171; if you need superior battery life, ultra-low latency gaming performance for PS5, and versatile Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, choose HOOTEK Over Ear.
• Avantree L171: Its biggest strength is the native Lightning jack compatibility for instant plug-and-play with iPhones without dongles, while its trade-off is a shorter single-use battery life of only 6 hours compared to wireless rivals. This pick is for iPhone commuters who prioritize wired reliability and call clarity over extended wireless playtime.
• HOOTEK Over Ear: It shines with an impressive 40-hour total playtime in standard mode and advanced Bluetooth 5.4 low-latency features perfect for gaming, but it requires a Type-C cable for charging rather than the ubiquitous Lightning port found on many Apple devices. This pick is for gamers and travelers who need long-lasting power and seamless connection to consoles like the PS5.
The Avantree L171 & Clan N1 Bundle is engineered for a very specific user: someone deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem who refuses to compromise on audio quality or call clarity while commuting. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the Lightning jack. Unlike most modern headphones that force you to carry a separate adapter or rely on Bluetooth pairing which can sometimes introduce lag or dropouts, this unit plugs directly into your iPhone. For anyone tired of managing multiple cables or worrying about their phone dying while trying to charge their headphones via a generic USB-C port, this direct integration is a game-changer. It removes the friction of setup entirely. You simply plug it in, and you are listening.
When it comes to sound isolation, Avantree has integrated Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation capable of blocking up to 24dB of environmental noise. This isn't just passive foam blocking out whispers; it actively detects and cancels out the drone of city buses, train engines, or office chatter. Combined with the built-in microphone designed for crystal clear calls, this makes the L171 an excellent tool for professional use during commutes. You can take a work call in a noisy subway car and be heard clearly, while still enjoying your music without the background din. The frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz ensures that the audio fidelity remains high across the spectrum, delivering balanced sound whether you are listening to podcasts or high-resolution tracks.
However, you must accept the limitations regarding battery longevity if you plan to use the wireless earbuds included in the bundle for long stretches. The L171 system offers a battery average life of 6 hours per charge, with the case extending that total to 24 hours. While 24 hours is sufficient for several days of short commutes, it falls short for a full week of heavy travel or marathon gaming sessions. Furthermore, the design is strictly wired for the main over-ear component, meaning you are tethered to your device unless you switch to the included wireless earbuds. If you are looking for a headphone that sits comfortably on your head for eight hours straight without needing a recharge, the 6-hour limit might feel restrictive. This product is best suited for those who value the convenience of a direct Lightning connection and reliable noise cancellation over all-day wireless freedom.

The HOOTEK Over Ear headphones are built for the power user who demands endurance and versatility. The most immediate draw for any gamer or frequent traveler is the massive battery capacity. With up to 25 hours of playtime in active noise-canceling mode and a staggering 40 hours in standard mode, these headphones eliminate the anxiety of running out of power mid-session. Whether you are flying cross-country or grinding through a long campaign on your console, you will likely never need to plug them in until the trip is over. The Type-C charging port further enhances this utility, as it is becoming the universal standard for electronics, allowing you to share a charger with your phone or tablet without hunting for proprietary cables.
Connectivity is where this model truly distinguishes itself for interactive media. Equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 technology, the HOOTEK headphones offer a stable connection within a 15-meter range and, crucially, ultra-low latency. For anyone using these for the PS5, this feature is non-negotiable. High-end gaming requires the audio to sync perfectly with the video; a delay of even a fraction of a second can ruin immersion or put you at a disadvantage in competitive matches. The Bluetooth 5.4 chip handles this synchronization effortlessly, ensuring that when you fire a weapon in-game, the sound hits your ears at the exact right moment. The dual-driver synergy and 40mm speakers with triple-layer composite diaphragms provide deep bass and stunning treble, creating an immersive soundscape that rivals much more expensive audiophile gear.
Comfort is another pillar of the HOOTEK design. The headphones feature adjustable headbands and ultra-soft memory foam ear cups that minimize pressure points, making them suitable for all-day wear. The foldable design also adds to their practicality, allowing them to be easily tucked into a backpack without taking up too much space. They come with three distinct modes: normal, active noise canceling, and transparent. This flexibility means you can block out the world completely when you need focus, or switch to transparent mode to hear announcements at a busy airport or talk to a colleague without removing the headset. This adaptability makes the HOOTEK Over Ear a superior choice for dynamic environments where you need to switch between deep immersion and situational awareness instantly.

If I were buying a pair of headphones specifically for ps5, there is no question in my mind: I would choose the HOOTEK Over Ear. The gaming experience relies heavily on low latency and immersive sound, and the Bluetooth 5.4 technology combined with the 40mm drivers delivers exactly what a console player needs. The ability to play for 40 hours on a single charge means I won't be interrupted by a dead battery during a long session, and the transparent mode is incredibly useful for hearing the doorbell or a roommate without pausing the game. While the Avantree L171 is a fantastic piece of engineering for iPhone users who want a wired connection, the HOOTEK's wireless flexibility, superior battery life, and gaming-focused specs make it the far more capable tool for entertainment and interaction.
