Effective date: May 27, 2026
The Daily Stair Climb app (the "App") operates this policy to keep your personal information safe, as follows.
The App has no membership or account features and does not directly collect any of the following:
Identifying information such as email, name, phone number, or address
Information requiring device permissions such as location, contacts, photos, camera, or health data
To serve ads, Google AdMob may automatically process device identifiers (IP address, advertising ID, etc.). For details, see Section 5 ("Advertising") of this policy.
The following information you enter in the App is stored only in your device's local storage (SQLite) and is never transmitted by the App to any external server.
Item
Storage location
Purpose
Floors climbed per day / memos
LocalAppData / stairs.db
Daily records and statistics
Floor height setting (default 3.0 m)
App session file
Total height / landmark progress calculation

Keeping dark/light mode
All of the above data is permanently deleted immediately when you delete the App or use the "Delete all data" feature in Settings.
The App uses the network only in the following two cases:
Ad serving — displaying Google AdMob ads and handling ad consent (UMP).
Contact us — when you open your mail app through the menu (the App merely launches your mail app; any communication with the email service is performed by your mail app).
Other than case 1 above, the App never transmits your records or statistics over the network.
The App entrusts information processing to the following provider, solely for ad serving:
Processor
Entrusted work
Retention period
Google LLC (Google AdMob)
Ad serving, ad performance measurement, invalid-click prevention
Per Google's policies

Except for ad serving, no user information is provided to or processed by any third party.
A Google AdMob banner ad is displayed at the bottom of the screen. In the course of serving ads, the Google AdMob SDK may automatically process:
Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / AAID, or Apple IDFA where applicable)
General device information such as IP address, device model, and OS version
Ad impression and click events
For users in regions covered by the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK, etc.), an ad privacy consent dialog is shown via the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) on first launch. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy Consent. For users outside regulated regions, no separate consent dialog is shown, and ads are served under Google's default advertising policies.
You can reset or disable your advertising ID in your device settings.
Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google Settings → Ads)
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising (the App does not request the tracking permission)
You can exercise your rights over the data the App stores on your device as follows:
Access: view directly in the Log / History / Stats tabs
Edit: item edit buttons
Delete: delete individual entries, or Settings → Delete all data
Change ad consent: Settings → Ad Privacy Consent (for users in applicable regions)
The App does not specifically target children under 14. The ad SDK options TagForChildDirectedTreatment / TagForUnderAgeOfConsent are both set to false, and no ads intentionally targeted at children are served.
If this policy changes, the changes will be reflected on this page along with an app update. You can check when changes took effect via the effective date above.
For inquiries about personal data handling, use the Settings → Contact menu in the App.
