Interjections โ short expressions.

๐ Practice tip: Take a short paragraph and identify the nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.
Every complete sentence in English has a subject and a verb. Most sentences also have an object.
Basic structure:
Subject + Verb + Object
โ She eats an apple.
Four types of sentences:
Declarative (statements): I like books.
Interrogative (questions): Do you like books?
Imperative (commands): Please sit down.
Exclamatory: What a great idea!
๐ Practice tip: Write 5 of each sentence type to get comfortable.
Tenses show when something happens. Begin with the three basic ones:
Present Simple:
I work every day.
Past Simple:
I worked yesterday.
Future Simple:
I will work tomorrow.
Then add these:
Present Continuous: I am working now.
Past Continuous: I was working at 5 PM.
Present Perfect: I have worked here since 2020.
Past Perfect: I had worked before he arrived.
Future Perfect: I will have worked 10 years by 2026.
๐ Practice tip: Choose one tense each week. Write 10 sentences using it. Speak them aloud too!
Use helping verbs like do, does, did, will to form questions and negatives.
Present Simple:
Do you play football?
She does not (doesnโt) like tea.
Past Simple
Did you go to the party?
I didnโt see her.
Future Simple:
Will he come?
He wonโt (will not) come.
๐ Practice tip: Take 5 positive sentences and rewrite them as questions and negatives.
Prepositions link nouns or pronouns to other words. They are small but important!
Common types:
Place: in, on, under, beside โ The cat is on the table.
Time: at, on, in
โ at 5 PM, on Monday, in December
Direction/Movement: to, into, out of โ She went to school.
๐ Practice tip: Describe your daily routine or your room using prepositions.
Once you're comfortable with simple sentences, you can join ideas using connectors (also called conjunctions):
And, but, or โ I like tea but not coffee.
Because, although, if โ She came because I invited her.
๐ Practice tip: Combine short sentences into longer ones using these words.
