Parts Churn and China
China is different. China is unique. China doesn’t use Parts Churn in manufacturing – at least not in manufacturing for domestic consumption. China was the home of Bi Sheng. Bi Sheng invented the use of interchangeable parts about 1,000 years ago. Parts Churn manufacturing makes no sense in China whereas, somehow, in the United States it not only seems to make sense but was the only way cars were manufactured after the Model T at least until the arrival of Tesla.
Below are two sets of tables. The first set compares Ford with Chery. Chery is an automobile manufacturer in China established in 1997. Chery does not churn parts. What reason could there be to churn automobile horns?
