In addition to this rollout were several other key players in the automotive industry. Mercedes-Benz offered their new Grand Mercedes-Benz, which seated seven for a list price of $25,000. Pricey by even today's standards for some buyers, the huge Benz featured four doors with a limousine setup. On the other side of the exhibition floor in the Dodge exhibit was the Dodge Dart. Making a comeback today as a revitalized setup from Dodge, the Dart still had its sporty attitude.

San Diego International Auto Show, presented by the 110-member New Car Dealers Association of San Diego County, the San Diego International Auto Show is the highest-attended four day auto show in the United States, and the second highest-attended show in California. The show uses some 640,000 square feet of exhibit space at the waterfront San Diego Convention Center.

Detroit Auto Show recap sheds light on the dwindling importance of traditional auto shows. The lackluster atmosphere and sparse media participation underscore the industry's shift towards alternative strategies. But sometimes it's difficult to catch up what author wrote, click here now to see professional writers help, if you need it for your content. It's evident that automakers prefer hosting individual events, often with online streaming, to garner prolonged media attention. While auto shows might continue as popular public events, their significance for media coverage seems to be waning.

In the first six months of 2020, there will be 27 auto shows across the U.S., as recognized by the Auto Shows of North America (ASNA), an NADA committee formed in 2003. More than 10 million consumers typically attend an auto show each year. At the recent Chicago show, there were nearly 1,000 vehicles on display across more than a million square feet of McCormick Center, which is why the Chicago Auto Show bills itself as one of the biggest.

Our research shows 6 in 10 consumers want a relationship with a dealer that extends well beyond the transaction. In other words, they want product help, not sales help. Modern consumers are looking to shop in the dealership and buy online, which is likely why the brand experience center concept is so appealing. And why auto shows can be so powerful.

The ability to compare cars side-by-side is one of the main benefits of going to an auto show, according to Barbara Pudney, vice president of Paragon Group, which produces auto shows in Denver, Boston, and other major U.S. cities.

Jake Fisher, director of auto testing at Consumer Reports, agrees. "An auto show is a fast and efficient way to get into a variety of vehicles from different manufacturers without the pressure of a salesperson trying to close a deal," he says.

Not all cars are at all shows. For instance, Mercedes-Benz isn't showing at the big auto show in Detroit next year, and it is largely absent from many regional shows, too. And the automakers that are present don't always bring every trim of every model, so be sure to ask about any options or vehicles that aren't on display.

At smaller shows, automakers and local dealers bring cars that are already on the market. Almost all shows have sections devoted to classic or exotic cars, and they have family activities that can help make the experience enjoyable for all ages. Which kind of show you should attend depends on which kind of car you're looking for.

Although an Auto Shows of North America study shows that 57 percent of auto-show attendees plan to buy a new car within the next 12 months, Pudney says some people go just to keep up with the latest styles, technology, and safety, even if they aren't planning to buy. "They want to know about it for when their time [to buy] comes," she says.

The pandemic put a strain on the auto show circuit and forced many organizers to either move venues, move cities, or move events off the calendar entirely. But even after a tumultuous few years, 2023 promises to bring auto shows back from their brief hiatus with a calendar packed with events all over the world.

The Tokyo Auto Salon is one of the more interesting auto shows of the year (not to be confused with the Tokyo Auto Show, which is later in the year). The show regularly features tuned domestic and race-spec vehicles but it often surprises us with some spectacular debuts. UAW workers are striking for increased wages and the restoration of certain benefits. They argue their proposals are fair given the profits Big Three automakers have seen in recent years, and are proportional to the wage and benefit increases the executives at their respective companies have seen. The automakers have argued they need that money to aid the transition to electric vehicles, and to be competitive against carmakers that don't have unionized workforces.
