Ryota

Personality: 

He’s very calm, often speaking in a way that hides his sharp teeth. Ryota is very kind, especially to those obviously younger than he is. He’s prone to taking care of people, feeding those around him, tending to their needs and making sure their in good health. 

Strengths & Abilities: 

• Herbal knowledge: Ryota is trained in herbal medicine and can mix up all sorts of things. Most of these are simply assists and taste bad on their own. He sometimes applies this knowledge to his cooking. 

• Illusion magic: the only magic he can use on his own is Illusions. He can make semi-tangible illusions. 

• Baking: this man can BAKE. he’s quite proud of his bread. 

Weaknesses & Flaws: 

• Hemomantic damage: overuse of Hemomancy in his youth has caused some lasting damage on top of exacerbating existing issues. 

• Nerve damage: He has some fairly obvious damage to the nerves in his hands. They often shake and occasionally go numb. 

• Prone to injury: he’s pretty prone to hurting himself, especially rolling his ankles. The injuries are usually minor but happen more often than normal. 

History/Summary:  

In his youth Ryota was a well known baker in his home village, along side his two sisters and brother. Unfortunately the village was raided and he was separated from his family, being taken in by a hermit in the mountains. 

After being trained in herbal medicine by the hermit, he formed a hermomantic pact with a human from a nearby village. He would protect the human's family in exchange for a place to live permanently. During a fight to defend the family Ryota had gotten frozen in time, giant crystals that covered the area around him. 

Hundreds of years later he was woken up by a descendant of the human, an ill woman seeking someone to take in her child. So that is what he did. 

Ryota had many good years raising his son. However, this ended once his son passed. A fox’s lifespan is much longer than that of a human. He went into hiding for several years. 

After being found by the hermit once again, Ryota was reunited with his family, His siblings and many new additions. Although he still lived in a rather isolated area, he did find love in his new husband. They spend their time in their mountain home gardening and enjoying their lives.
