40th "Joint Class Reunion" for the Stephen F. Austin High School Centennial Class of 1981 (November 5-6, 2021)

Schedule of Events:

• 1. WELCOME RECEPTION (Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, 6-10pm) -- “Flash Mob” cash bar event at Easy Tiger South (3508 South Lamar, Suite 200) which provides a great setting with gorgeous sunset view over Barton Creek for informal, classmates-only gathering to throw back a few, catch up with classmates and see who loses their voice when trying to catch up on 40 years of living large.

  2. PICNIC AT PEASE DISTRICT PARK (Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, noon) -- Enjoy a picnic and good company at the fabulous new Pease District Park (1100 Kingsbury St.) at reserved picnic area for Classes of 1980 and 1981. Holiday House style hamburgers will be available for purchase, or bring your own lunch. BYOB if you must, but no glass.

  3. DINNER, DRINKS AND DANCE RECEPTION (Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, 6-11pm) -- Everyone is invited for dinner, drinks and dancing at Junior League Community Impact Center (5330 Bluffstone Lane), including all 1980 and 1980 graduates and classmates and spouses/partners/boyfriends/girlfriends/whatever-floats-your-boat . Come find out what your classmates have been doing for the last FORTY-FREAKING years.

     1. • Entertainment: DJ music from Spotify playlist “Austin High School Daze 81” where classmates can add favorite songs by contacting Scott Hendrix (shendrix2134@gmail.com) with music requests or by using the Spotify link (rb.gy/riwvzg) to add your favorites. So far, there's a lot of Yacht Rock choices on the playlist so far, so please add your favorite tunes to the playlist!

        • Dinner will be provided by PEJ Events with food stations having different dining options. Cupcakes extra.

        • Cash bar.

        • Free parking.

        • Admission: $50/person if purchased before Oct. 25, $60/person after Oct. 25. Stay tuned for payment link.

RSVP and Ticket Purchase: RSVP for Friday and Saturday daytime events on the "Tickets & RSVP" page where you can also make online-ticket purchases.

Send Us Pictures and Videos: We're collecting pictures for a video, so please scan and send digital pictures to Scott Hendrix and he will set up a video for Saturday night.

Reunion Facebook Page: We have a Facebook Reunion page at www.facebook.com/groups/121040141246244/. Aren't we all cool and hip and techy? Within the bounds of propriety and decency, please feel free to post pictures and videos on the Facebook page.

Missing Classmates and Updating Contact Information: If you have questions or information on missing classmates from the Class of 1981, please email us at ahscentennialclass1981@gmail.com.

COVID STATEMENT

We are closely monitoring the situation and believe it is safe to move forward with the reunion plans.

• All of the event locations have an outdoor space.

• The Saturday night venue, Community Impact Center, is quite large allowing for social distancing indoors, in addition to a large outdoor area.

• We will provide hand sanitizer and face masks.

• To respect the safety and health of your friends and classmates, please make sure that you are fully vaccinated or have a clean Covid-19 test result at least 72 hours before the reunion.

• Finally, if you are not feeling well, please take care of yourself and your fellow Maroons.
