Australian Education Markets network

About the group

The Australian Education Markets (AusEM) network is an Australian-based academic research initiative that brings together theoretical, empirical and experimental economists with a common interest in education policy and market design.

The goal for this network is first and foremost to create a stronger community of researchers working in closely related areas in our region. The network provides a specialised venue where we can interact regularly, seek and provide feedback, and exchange ideas.

Starting in November 2021, we will organise monthly virtual seminars with invited speakers, accompanied with discussion sessions and individual meetings. The topics of the seminars are more focused than those of other virtual seminar series, aiming to foster a regular group of participants with expertise that is closely related to education and market design.

Starting in 2022, we will also organise occasional practice-oriented meetings with education policy-makers and with academics who have had direct involvement in the design of education systems.

The group welcomes all Australian-based academics and advanced-stage PhD students who are interested in education policy and market design. If you would like to join us, please contact us at AusEMnetwork@gmail.com.
