If you want a wearable headband with built-in speakers and a microphone for calls, choose Aurya Sleep Headphones Sports; if you need a Bluetooth adapter to send audio from an AUX source to headphones, choose PYYUWF 5.4. For calls, Aurya is the direct fit: PYYUWF is a transmitter-receiver, not a headset. They solve different problems, so the right choice comes down to whether you need something to wear or something to connect.
• Aurya’s biggest strength: A soft headband combines two thin speakers and a built-in microphone; trade-off: it has no noise control and is designed around headband wear rather than standalone earbuds.
• PYYUWF’s biggest strength: It can transmit audio to two Bluetooth headphones at once and also receive Bluetooth audio for AUX equipment; trade-off: it has no headphones or microphone for calls.
• Battery: Aurya lists up to 8 hours of playtime; PYYUWF lists up to 20 hours. Both list a 2-hour charge time.
• Fit for travel: Aurya is something you wear for sleep, exercise, or listening; PYYUWF connects to audio sources such as an airplane screen, TV, or car stereo.
• Who should choose Aurya: Someone who wants a headband-style listening option that can also handle calls.
• Who should choose PYYUWF: Someone who already has Bluetooth headphones and wants to connect them to wired audio equipment or share a source.
Aurya is a wearable Bluetooth headband with two ultra-thin speakers and a built-in microphone. Its main appeal is the combination: instead of separate earbuds, the speakers sit inside a fabric band intended for sleep, travel, exercise, yoga, and similar routines. Bluetooth 5.4 provides the wireless connection, and the listed range is 10 meters.
For calls, the built-in microphone makes Aurya the practical option between these two. It is also the one to consider if you want audio for a nap, a flight, a walk, or a workout without wearing conventional earbuds. The headband is 3.34 inches wide, and the listed fabric choices are Lycra, cationic polyester, and cationic fleece. The speakers and Bluetooth module can be removed so the fabric band can be washed.
There are trade-offs. Aurya lists no noise control, so it is not a noise-canceling headset and should not be mistaken for one. The stated playtime is up to 8 hours, which is less than PYYUWF’s battery figure, though the products serve different purposes. Skip Aurya if you need a small adapter for wired audio equipment, or if your priority is sending one source to two pairs of headphones.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
Updated: 2026-10-23 · 6 min read · Independent comparison
PYYUWF 5.4 is a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver, not a pair of headphones. In transmit mode, it sends audio from a 3.5 mm AUX source—such as an airplane entertainment system or TV—to Bluetooth headphones. It can connect to two headphone pairs at once. For older aircraft with a two-prong audio socket, the kit includes an adapter; it also supports a single 3.5 mm AUX jack.
Its other role is receive mode. In that mode, it can accept Bluetooth audio and send it to equipment with an AUX connection, such as a car stereo or a wired home receiver. That flexibility is the main reason to choose it: one compact device can address both older wired audio sources and AUX equipment that you want to use wirelessly. Its listed range is 33 feet, and its battery life is up to 20 hours, with a 2-hour charge time.
The limitation matters for anyone shopping for calls: PYYUWF does not provide headphones or a microphone. You would need separate Bluetooth headphones, and the adapter itself is not a headset. Its low-latency feature is aimed at keeping transmitted audio in sync for movies and games, not at providing noise cancellation or call handling. Choose it for connecting audio devices, not for a wearable sleep or sports listening solution.
• Best fit for calls between these two → Aurya Sleep Headphones Sports. It has a built-in microphone; PYYUWF is an audio adapter.
• Best for wearing while resting or exercising → Aurya. Its headband design is intended for sleep, naps, travel, gyms, jogging, and yoga.
• Best for sharing a wired audio source → PYYUWF 5.4. It can transmit to two pairs of Bluetooth headphones at once.
• Best for connecting airplane entertainment to wireless headphones → PYYUWF 5.4. It supports a 3.5 mm AUX jack and includes an adapter for a two-prong aircraft socket.
• Best for longer listed battery life → PYYUWF 5.4. It lists up to 20 hours, compared with Aurya’s up to 8 hours. That comparison is about battery duration, not the same listening setup.
• Best for washable wearable construction → Aurya. Its speakers and Bluetooth module are removable, allowing the fabric headband to be washed.
• Best for switching between transmit and receive roles → PYYUWF 5.4. It can send audio to Bluetooth headphones or receive Bluetooth audio for AUX-connected equipment.
• Best for the search “best open ear headphones for calls” → neither is a straightforward match. Aurya is a fabric headband with embedded speakers, while PYYUWF is not headphones. For calls from these two options, Aurya is the relevant choice because it has a microphone.
One point deserves a clear distinction: the phrase “best open ear earbuds for calls” does not describe either product precisely. Aurya is not a pair of separate earbuds; it is a headband. PYYUWF is a connector for headphones you supply. If you are looking for noise canceling gaming headphones for calls, neither product is a complete match: PYYUWF’s low-latency transmission relates to audio synchronization, while Aurya lists no noise control.
The practical decision is less about which has more features and more about what equipment you already own. Aurya is a wearable audio product. PYYUWF makes other audio equipment work together. Buying the adapter when you need a microphone-equipped headset—or buying the headband when you need a transmitter for a TV—would leave the main need unmet.
My Verdict
Not by itself. It is a Bluetooth transmitter-receiver, not a headset, and the listed features do not include a microphone. You would need separate headphones with call capability.
PYYUWF lists up to 20 hours of battery life, while Aurya lists up to 8 hours of playtime. Both list a 2-hour charging time, but their different jobs make battery life only one part of the choice.
No noise-control feature is listed for Aurya. Its headband has built-in speakers and a microphone, but it should not be treated as a noise-canceling headset.
Yes. In transmit mode, it supports simultaneous connection to two Bluetooth headphone pairs. The headphones are separate from the adapter, so both listeners need compatible headphones.
