Man on Personal Energy Transportation Vehicle

Our church has been in a covenant relationship with the Orphanage in Mozambique, Africa for a number of years. We continually support them with prayers and each year send $1000. to the orphanage.

The Carolyn Belshe Orpanage initially termed "Teles Orphanage" was started in 1991 by The United Methodist Church after the 17-year civil war, to respond to the needs of the children. It was then termed "Children of War Center". As time passes, the children arriving at the center have different backgrounds. Some of them are abandoned, others lost their mothers during or after childbirth, and others have been reintegrated from the streets. And as the endemic HIV/AIDS strikes the country, most of the children arriving at the center are orphan victims of HIV/AIDS. If your heart compels you additional donations are welcomed and can be made through AUMC.

Personal Energy Transportation Vehicles (PETS)

Over the years our church has also been involved not only with volunteers putting in many man hours building the PETS, but financially in helping to support the PETS project. This group provides Personal Energy Transportation vehicles for people with disabilities in poor and underdeveloped countries. The recipients of these PETs would otherwise have no mobility. By receiving these vehicles many of these people are better equipped to support themselves and their families. If you would like to be a part of this mission area, please come on out and help assemble on Wednesday mornings. A financial donation of $250 will provide one PET to a disabled person and help change their life!
