AURMS rotates to a different Atlanta institution each month. When this month's location is decided, we'll update the schedule of upcoming talks. We also provide this information via our mailing list.

Travel Funding for Students

AURMS will pay for students' MARTA or Uber/Lyft rides to and from the seminar, as well as expenses like visitor parking. We want you to have the opportunity to visit other institutions and network with peers from all over Atlanta without worrying about travel costs. Many schools are easily reached via MARTA.

You'll get a check in the mail to pay you back for the cost of your ride.


We appreciate it when students take MARTA, and when those taking an Uber (particularly if a group of students from the same institution is attending) ride together so that we can fund as many riders as possible. Thank you!

Travel info: MARTA, Parking, and Directions

We'll add info on various travel options for each institution as AURMS rotates to them. Students are welcome to walk, bike, drive, or use MARTA, university buses, or Uber/Lyft to travel to each campus. 

Agnes Scott College

Agnes Scott is a short walk from the Decatur MARTA station (blue line). MARTA bus 823 also services the Agnes Scott campus. Free parking for campus visitors is available in the Main Loop or West Parking Facility.

Emory University

Emory University is located in Northeast Atlanta, between Decatur and Druid Hills. 

MARTA buses 6 and 36 service Emory campus. Visitor parking is available. There is a free bus run by Georgia Tech that travels to/from Emory; students can take MARTA to the midtown station and board the bus or board the bus on the Georgia Tech campus. 

Note: the bus runs hourly and stops at the side of the Midtown MARTA station facing 10th street, not the side facing Peachtree street.

Georgia State University

Georgia State University is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The mathematics department is located at 25 Park Place, floors 13-14. 

This building is a short walk from the Peachtree Center MARTA station. There is also visitor parking available on campus. 

Georgia Institute of Technology

Georgia Tech is located in Midtown, Atlanta. The mathematics department is located in the Skiles Classroom building, though seminars may also be hosted in the adjacent library or Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons.

Students may take MARTA to the Midtown MARTA station and board the GOLD line stinger bus. The bus is free to ride and runs from the Midtown MARTA station to a bus loop at the Skiles classroom building (end of the line). Students might also choose to take MARTA to the North Avenue station and walk (~10-15 min) to Skiles.

There is also visitor parking (green area 1 or 2 on this map are closest). 

Spelman College

Spelman College is located in the Atlanta University Center. 

Spelman's campus is a 15-minute walk from the West End MARTA station and is serviced by MARTA bus 68. AUC students may utilize the AUC/Woodruff shuttle. View a campus map here.
