Renee Nicole Good moments before she was fatally shot
Since the fatal shooting of 37 year old Renee Good by the hands of a federal agent of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on January 7th , there has been speculation as regards its justification. United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has since and repeatedly stated that the shooting was justified and that the victim was a domestic terrorist who attempted to harm a federal agent even the President of the United States and many others who support the current administration have weighed in on the incident and echoed the sentiments made by Kristi Noem. On the other hand some of those who are against the current administration and the actions of ICE in general have expressed that this was an unjustifiable shooting an that the actions of the ICE agent was reckless to say the least.
Many videos taken by witnesses showing what led up to the incident, the incident itself and its aftermath have been circulating over the internet and social media, making the public themselves difacto investigators, giving their opinions on this tragic event although the videos leave a lot to speculation. The investigation into the incident has been taken over by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), mainly as a federal agent is involved in the incident, some wonder about the transparency of the investigations since local Minneapolis officials have been left out and the strong statements made by the Secretary of Homeland Security mere a day after the shooting.
With the videos being a key form of evidence in this investigation, there has been the release of a cellphone video made by the ICE officer in question, taken during the incident. Experts have since weighed in on the video and gave various opinions.
