AuraDownloader ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension interacts with your data when you use the AuraDownloader extension (the "Extension").
1. Zero Data Collection Policy
AuraDownloader operates under a strict Zero Data Collection model.
No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information (PII), including names, email addresses, physical addresses, IP addresses, or phone numbers.
No Browsing History: We do not track, monitor, or record your browsing history, search queries, or the websites you visit.
No Content Storage: We do not store or transmit any images, URLs, or metadata that you scan or download. All image detection, filtering, and packaging are performed entirely within your browser's local sandboxed environment.
2. API Permissions & Justifications
To function correctly, the Extension requests the following browser permissions:
activeTab
Purpose: Allows the Extension to access the currently active browser tab when you click the Extension icon.
Data Interaction: Used only to read the current page URL and identify images available on the page. No data is stored or transmitted.
scripting
Purpose: Allows the Extension to inject the image scanner script (content.js) into the active web page.
Data Interaction: Used to locate <img> elements, CSS background images, and SVG elements within the page so they can be displayed in the Extension interface.
downloads
Purpose: Allows the Extension to use the browser's download manager.
Data Interaction: Used to save selected images or generated ZIP files directly to your local Downloads folder.
storage
Purpose: Allows the Extension to save settings locally.
Data Interaction: Used only to store user preferences, such as custom minimum width and height filter values, so your settings are retained between sessions.
3. Data Processing and Security
All image scanning, filtering, processing, and ZIP file generation (using JSZip) take place entirely on your device within your browser. No image files, URLs, or search results are uploaded to external servers or shared with third parties.
Your download activity remains protected by Google Chrome's built-in security sandbox.
4. Compliance with Google Developer Policies
AuraDownloader is designed to comply with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Agreement and User Data Policy.
Single Purpose: The Extension is designed solely to help users download image files from websites.
User Consent: The Extension accesses the active tab only after you explicitly click the Extension icon.
No Data Sharing: We do not share or sell any information to third parties, advertising networks, or data brokers.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in browser technologies, legal requirements, or Chrome Web Store policies. Any updates will be posted on this page along with a revised Effective Date.
