Our hearts are full of gratitude to everyone who joined the Community for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, for the screening of Meeting with Pol Pot and the deeply moving discussion that followed.
That evening was more than a film screening. It was a moment of remembrance, reflection, and shared humanity. Together, we honored the voices of survivors, remembered the lives lost during the Khmer Rouge regime, and reflected on the painful consequences of power, violence, and the destruction of human dignity.
To every participant who listened, shared emotions, asked questions, and stood in solidarity with survivors and their stories — thank you.
Your presence reminded us that memory matters, that compassion matters, and that future generations must continue learning from the past so history is never forgotten.
We extend our sincere appreciation to American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), Bophana Center, and Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) for supporting the CSEAS and helping make this meaningful event possible.
May we continue to remember with truth, heal with compassion, and move forward with hope. Wishing all participants peace, strength, and inspiration as we carry these stories forward together. 🤍
Special thanks to our photographer, Trouy Sinan, for capturing these wonderful moments.
