If you want a heat-resistant, washable silicone liner specifically for your Subaru Forester, Crosstrek, or Impreza that keeps the interior looking sharp without sticky residue, choose auovo Dashboard Mats; if you need a soft, glare-reducing carpet cover for a Hyundai Sonata 2011-2014 that prioritizes sun protection and driver safety from reflection, choose X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover.
• auovo Dashboard Mats: The standout strength is its upgraded silicone construction that resists heat and avoids sticky stains in summer, with a trade-off of being a custom-fit accessory only for specific Subaru models. This pick is for owners of 2018–2024 Subarus who want a sleek, all-black trim upgrade and easy cleanup.
• X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover: The primary advantage is its breathable polyester fabric with non-slip particles designed to reduce windshield glare and protect against sun damage, but it is strictly limited to the 2011–2014 Hyundai Sonata. This pick is for drivers seeking a softer texture and enhanced visibility safety on older Hyundai dashboards.
• Both products offer lifetime warranties and are designed for direct placement without installation tools, yet they serve entirely different vehicle ecosystems and material preferences.
The auovo Dashboard Mats are engineered for a very specific audience: owners of the newer generation Subaru Forester (2019–2024), Crosstrek (2018–2023), and Impreza (2018–2023). What sets this product apart immediately is the material choice. While many competitors stick to standard rubber, auovo has upgraded to a silicone material. Standard rubber often becomes tacky and leaves permanent sticky stains on plastic surfaces when exposed to intense heat. This silicone version resists that degradation, ensuring the mat stays clean and functional even when parked under the midday sun.
The design philosophy here leans heavily toward aesthetics and utility. The "All Black" outline isn't just a color option; it is a deliberate styling choice meant to modernize the look of the car's interior. For families using their vehicles as mobile hubs—think transporting kids to soccer practice or running errands on rainy days—the "Easy to Clean" feature is a massive selling point. The specification notes that the mat is 100% washable and offers all-weather protection against sleet, ice, snow, and rain. If you have ever had to scrub melted candy or muddy shoe prints off a dashboard, you know how valuable a wipe-down or rinse cycle is. You simply put it in, and the silicone surface repels dirt rather than absorbing it.
However, this product is not for everyone. It is a precision fit for a narrow range of Subaru models. If you drive a Toyota, Honda, or any other brand, this item will not work. You should skip this product if you prefer a soft, cloth-like feel over a smooth, rubberized texture, or if your vehicle is outside the 2018–2024 Subaru lineup. It is a specialized tool for a specific job, offering a "cool" visual upgrade alongside practical heat resistance.

In contrast, the X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover targets owners of the 2011 through 2014 Hyundai Sonata. This product takes a fundamentally different approach by utilizing quality polyester material rather than silicone. Polyester is inherently soft and breathable, which creates a tactile experience quite different from the slick, durable feel of silicone. For drivers who prioritize comfort and a classic interior look, this soft fabric provides a gentle barrier between the dashboard surface and whatever items you might place on top of it.
Safety is a major focal point for this cover. One of the most critical features listed is the ability to reduce windshield glare. Sunlight reflecting off a hard, shiny dashboard can be blinding, especially during early morning or late afternoon drives. By covering the surface with a matte, non-reflective polyester fabric, this product guards your driving safety by minimizing those dangerous reflections. Additionally, the bottom layer features non-slip silicone particles. These particles act as an anchor, ensuring the cover doesn't slide around on the dashboard or fall off unexpectedly, which is crucial for maintaining stability while driving.
This cover is ideal for protecting the original dashboard configuration from sun damage, heat, dirt, and scratches. The dimensions indicate a larger footprint compared to the auovo mat, covering a broad area of the instrument panel. However, like the auovo option, it is strictly incompatible with any vehicle other than the specified Hyundai Sonata years. If you drive a model outside that four-year window, or if you own a different manufacturer entirely, this product will not fit. It is also worth noting that while the material is durable, it is fabric-based, meaning it may require more careful handling regarding liquids compared to the fully washable silicone option. It is a choice for those who value glare reduction and a soft touch over the high-heat resistance of synthetic polymers.
• Best for Heat Resistance → auovo Dashboard Mats: The silicone material explicitly outperforms standard rubber and fabric in resisting heat-induced stickiness, making it superior for hot climates.
• Best for Glare Reduction → X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover: The polyester fabric is specifically engineered to cut down on windshield reflections, a feature the silicone mat does not claim.
• Best for Easy Cleaning → auovo Dashboard Mats: Being 100% washable and water-resistant makes it the clear winner for messy environments involving kids or outdoor activities.
• Best for Soft Touch → X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover: The breathable polyester offers a softer, less rigid surface than the firm silicone pad.
• Best for Safety Features → X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover: The explicit mention of reducing glare adds a tangible safety benefit for the driver's line of sight.
• Best Fit Specificity → auovo Dashboard Mats: Offers precise sizing for 2018+ Subarus, whereas X AUTOHAUX covers the 2011–2014 Hyundai Sonata.
• Best Value for All-Weather → auovo Dashboard Mats: The protection against sleet, ice, and snow combined with washability suggests higher durability in varied weather conditions.
• Best for Non-Slip Stability → X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover: The silicone particles on the bottom are highlighted as a key feature to prevent sliding, though both rely on friction to stay in place.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the auovo Dashboard Mats if I owned a compatible Subaru. The reason is simple: the silicone upgrade solves the most common pain point of dashboard mats—the sticky mess created by summer heat. While the X AUTOHAUX cover is excellent for glare reduction, the auovo mat offers a more robust defense against the elements and easier maintenance, which is essential for daily drivers. Its design also allows for a cleaner, more modern aesthetic that fits well in today's automotive interiors. Ultimately, for kids in car, having a surface that wipes clean instantly and doesn't get sticky under the seats is a non-negotiable feature for me. Both products are designed to sit securely on the dashboard without sliding, but the auovo mat is safer for messes because it is 100% washable and resistant to sticky residues from food or drinks, whereas the polyester cover absorbs spills more readily.
The auovo silicone mat is specifically noted as more resistant to heat than rubber, preventing peeling and stickiness, while the X AUTOHAUX polyester cover is described as durable and breathable for long-term use but relies on fabric integrity rather than polymer resistance.
No, neither product requires tools or modification; both are designed to be placed directly onto the dashboard surface, with the auovo mat fitting into specific contours and the X AUTOHAUX cover relying on non-slip particles to stay in place.
The auovo mat is a compact unit measuring approximately 10.2 x 10.1 inches, designed for specific Subaru sections, while the X AUTOHAUX cover is significantly larger at roughly 57.09 x 23.62 inches to cover the full width of the Hyundai Sonata dashboard.
