This Privacy Policy describes how the independent developer of AudioInk (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the AudioInk App. By using AudioInk, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
AudioInk is designed for local-first processing.
OCR image scanning, document text extraction and text-to-speech synthesis run locally on your device using Apple native frameworks.
Your photos, scanned book pages, imported PDFs, text drafts and generated audio files are NOT automatically uploaded to our servers.
We do not require login, and we do not collect your name, email, phone number or other personal identifiers.
Private Vault content is encrypted locally on your device and never transmitted to our backend.
We may receive anonymous crash logs and diagnostic data from your device, only if you opt in to share crash reports. This anonymous data cannot identify you and is used solely to fix bugs and improve stability. We do not link crash data to your private documents or scans.
The App may request device permissions:
Camera: to capture photos for OCR book scanning. Images stay locally on device.
Photo Library: to select existing images for text recognition.
Local Storage: save your texts, documents, audio and private vault files. All permissions can be revoked anytime in your iOS device Settings.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal data with third parties. We will not disclose your local content unless required by valid court order or law enforcement request.
All your texts, scanned images and audio files remain stored on your local device until you manually delete them. Unlinked anonymous crash data is retained only for debugging purposes and deleted after the issue is resolved.
You may remove all your local content by deleting files inside the App or uninstalling AudioInk. Uninstalling will erase all locally stored vault data, generated audio and scanned materials.
AudioInk is not targeted to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes become effective once published inside the App or on our website. Your continued use after updates means you accept the new Policy.
