Dmytro Ponomarenko built the Audio Recorder app (available as a free app with an optional "Audio Recorder Pro" in-app purchase to unlock premium features) at no cost, and it is intended for use "as is."

This page informs you of my policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use my Service.

1. Information Collection and Use

The app does not require you to create an account and does not collect personally identifiable information from you directly. Audio recordings you create are stored locally on your device only; they are never uploaded to me or to any server.

The app uses your device's microphone to record audio files and store them in an app-specific directory on your device. Recording is only ever triggered by you, the user — the app cannot start recording in the background without your action. While recording is in progress, the app always shows a persistent notification with recording progress, as required by Android.

2. Permissions

The app requests the following permissions, used strictly for the purposes below:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO, MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): to record audio.

• Storage (WRITE/READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): only requested on older Android versions (up to Android 9/API 28). On modern Android versions, the app uses app-specific, scoped storage and does not need broad storage access.

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show the required recording/playback status notification. The app does not send push or marketing notifications.

• Foreground Service: to keep recording/playback reliably running while the app is in use.

• Internet: used only for crash reporting, analytics, and in-app purchase processing (see below) — not to upload your recordings.

3. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, which may collect information used to identify you according to their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and diagnostic (Log Data) information to help me identify and fix bugs.

• Firebase Analytics — collects anonymized usage statistics to help me understand feature usage and improve the app.

• Google Play Billing — if you purchase "Audio Recorder Pro" or any in-app upgrade, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. I do not receive or store your payment card details; I only receive confirmation that a purchase was made.

4. Log Data

Whenever you use my Service, in the case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through Firebase Crashlytics) on your device, called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the app configuration at the time of the error, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other diagnostic statistics. This information is used solely to diagnose and fix technical issues.

5. Data Retention

Your audio recordings remain on your device under your control and are deleted when you delete them or uninstall the app. Diagnostic and analytics data collected via Firebase is retained according to Google's Firebase data retention policies, referenced above.

6. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. 

7. Security

I value your trust in providing your information, and I strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Since the app does not collect personally identifiable information beyond anonymous diagnostic/analytics data, there is no personal profile to access or delete on my end. If you wish to stop analytics/crash data collection, you can do so via your device's app permissions or by uninstalling the app.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
