For two months I got to see, front row, what it was like to be an Account Manager at a start-up creative agency. Working under some of the most skilled managers and creatives I conducted primary and secondary market research, participated in client meetings, monitored the launch of campaigns, and sent many, many emails. My time at CALLEN was, to say the least, a valuable experience that has propelled me forward in this future career of mine as a manager.

Autry Action Shoes

A large part of my internship was dedicated to doing background research on new business clients we had the potential to work with. Autry's backgrounder was the most extensive, looking into brand history, category competitors, and various other luxury sneaker market trends. After spending hours knee deep in the fashion world, never have I ever wanted to be a fashion designer so badly. Take a look at my 80+ presentation that was sent out company wide to see why.

Buff City Soaps

Another new business client, Buff City Soaps is looking to be the next big competitor in the bath and body market. To make sure CALLEN knew their stuff, I was tasked with performing both primary and secondary research on the brand. Whether it was going into stores to see the products for myself, sorting through others' opinions on social media, or testing soap products among my roommates I both literally and figuratively scrubbed the soap market until it was clean.

Bijan Mustardson

Who says an advertising agency can't create a mustard? CALLEN always looks to tow the line of creativity and when I was told to start researching various flavors of mustard I really started to believe it.  Between looking into mustard pricing, doing in-store visits to see the display of mustard shelves, and making a presentation solely based on mustard, I'm not sure I will ever want to eat mustard or look at it again. I will be buying a bottle of Bijan Mustardson though.

Naked Wines

Since CALLEN had already shot and curated several creative pieces for Naked Wines months prior to my arrival, I was privileged to work with client and company to make sure everything was set for the official campaign launch.  With very little wine knowledge myself, I was worried I wouldn't be too helpful with this task. But, like many American's claim, you could say I'm now more than confident in my knowledge of the wine market... and something of a sommelier.

Atmosphere T.V.

Atmosphere TV is a streaming service placed anywhere from bars, doctors offices, and laundromats made to entertain customers with short form videos as they wait/eat/socialize. As a potential new client of the agency, I was assigned the task of seeing what they are all about and how we could help make them more successful. While most Americans now have short attention spans, this project helped train mine to act otherwise.

Ranch Rider Spirits

I don't drink beer, but I do support the placing of tiny hats on its cans. Already having worked with Ranch Rider in the past, CALLEN came up the idea of a mini hattery in the spirit of celebrating national cowboy day. I helped with preparations leading up to the event, including printing signage, being an extra in an Instagram story, and being a creator of the tiny hats themselves! While it's almost always true that "everything is bigger in Texas," it doesn't mean your cowboy hats have to be too.
