Where can I find the application?
On this website, under First Year Medicine, you can find "Online Application".
What is the transcript submission process?
For AUB Students: You don't have to submit any official transcript, only upload & submit your unofficial transcript in the online application (save it through AUBSIS). Med School will request your official transcript from registrar after you apply, and the registrar will do it itself.
For non-AUB Students: You have to submit your official transcript (sealed & by hand) to AUB's Admissions Office.
Note: Transcripts should include your Fall Grades too.
When is the application deadline?
January 15, 2022. Note: There is only one cycle for admissions.
Is the MCAT required for the 2024-2025 admission cycle?
No.
Is there a paper-based application?
There is no paper-based application, just the online application.

What is the minimum number of credits to apply to AUB Med School?
The minimum number of credits to apply to AUB Medical School is 70.
Everything about the Letters of Recommendation.
Every student can submit 2 or 3 letters of recommendation in the time of application to AUB Medical School. You can contact the professors directly for these letters.
There are 2 ways to submit your letters or recommendation:
1- The professor can send it by email to admit@aub.edu.lb
2- You can get your letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope and submit it by hand to AUB's Admissions Office.
Make sure to ask for letters weeks before the deadline because writing letters of recommendation takes time.
The deadline for submission is January 15, 2022.
Note:
-No letters should be attached to your applications.
-The letters should be written by a credible source, and can be from professors of your department or outside of your department.
-You can submit a letter from a doctor you did research with.
-You can submit a letter from a doctor who taught in AUB and then left AUB.

Can I pass courses before applying to AUB Medical School?
Opting for P/NP grading will not impact your chances of being admitted to AUB's medical school, as long as the courses taken during the COVID 19 pandemic in which you opt for a grade of “P" do not constitute more than 20% of the course credits used to calculate your GPA in the following categories: core premedical courses, major courses, and all courses at the time of application. For core premedical courses, the 20% upward limit applies only to those you take during your undergraduate studies. Courses taken abroad through AUB's Office of International Programs (OIP), and those taken in the Lebanese Baccalaureate program that are equivalent to premedical courses and assigned a “P" do not enter into the calculation of the 20% limit. When should I start working on letters of recommendation for my application? And how can I get them?

Make sure to ask for letters weeks before the deadline because writing letters of recommendation takes time.
How can I access the FAID application for MED 1 ?
When you submit the application for First Year Medicine, you will be able to access the FAID application on AUBsis (in the "Student Awards and Financial Aid" section) within 24 hours. You should indicate MED 1 on your application.
Is the FAID application entirely online, or do I need to submit documents in-person?
There will be no physical submissions of documents, everything should be uploaded online.
What is the acceptance rate for AUB Med-School?
There is no specific rate, the rate changes every year depending on the applicants.
Am I recommended or required to do volunteering/research to get into med school?
Volunteering and research boost your application and they are highly recommended.
Does a passing/withdrawal grade affect my chances of being accepted?
No, passing or withdrawal do not affect your chances of being accepted.
What are the percentages of GPA/MCAT/Interview considered by AUB Medicine for admissions?
AUB Medical School divides the percentages on requirements as follows:
GPA: 50%
MCAT: 35%
Interview: 15%
N.B. Note that this division changed for the 2021 Admission Cycle. Any news announced by the AUB Med School will be communicated to you.
Is there a minimum GPA needed to apply to AUB Med-School?
There is no minimum GPA to apply to AUB Med-School. However, a student should have an average of at least 80 on Pre-Medical courses considered by AUB. (For students with letter grades, the minimum GPA of Pre-Medical courses will be decided later in the 2022 admissions cycle).
If I retake a class, which grade will be considered?
-If the repeated course is one of the pre-medical courses and initially taken in the sophomore year, then the higher grade will be considered.
-If it is a premedical course taken initially in junior year, then the average of the two grades will be taken.
-If it is not a pre-medical course and considered for the overall average, then the higher grade will be taken no matter the time in which the course was initially taken.
Is the major GPA taken into consideration in comparing the applicants for medical school?
No, AUB Medical School considers your cumulative GPA which includes all the courses you’ve taken in your undergraduate years before applying to AUB Med School and not just your major courses.
Is my Senior Year Spring Semester considered in my AUB Med-School application.
No, it is not. The last semester considered by AUB Med-School is your Fall semester during your senior year.
Do grades from studying abroad count towards my GPA?
No, all the courses you take during your semester abroad are considered as Pass/Fail only. Which means that these courses have no effect on your GPA.
How many times can I repeat the MCAT exam for AUB Medical School?
You can sit the MCAT exam up to 3 times only before applying to AUB Medical School. Any additional sitting will not be considered.
When should I take my MCAT?
The last MCAT score considered for an admission cycle is that of January of the same year. Students usually take their MCAT in the summer of their Junior Year up to January of their Senior (or last) Year.
When does my MCAT score expire?
It expires after 3 years from the date taken.
What is the best major to do when following the PreMedical track?
There is none. A huge misconception is that a student must major in a science discipline to get into medical school. AUB Medical School requires science classes that you must take to apply to medical schools. These courses generally include biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Apart from these courses, you are not required to take any other specific classes. So, whether you major in biology, economics, history, engineering, or any other major, you can apply to medical school if you meet the requirements.
Does the Biology Major give any advantage to premed students applying to AUB Medical School?
No, it doesn't. No Major gives an advantage over any other.

Should I finish all my pre-medical courses before applying to AUB Med School?
You have until Fall semester of your senior year to finish the pre-medical courses.
If I am a non-biology major, am I required to take BIOL 202?
If you are a non-Biology Major:
If you were LS or equivalent in school, then only BIOL 201 is required to apply to Medical School.
If you were GS or equivalent in school, then you should take both BIOL 201 and BIOL 202 to apply to Medical School.
Do we have a higher/lower chance of being accepted if we did our undergraduate outside AUB?
The AUB Medical School Admissions Office classifies AUB students in a different pool than non-AUB students.
What is the minimum GPA/MCAT required for non-AUB graduates?
The minimum GPA for non- AUB graduates is 3.6, and the minimum MCAT score is 508.
