BEARING WALL REMOVAL:
BEARING WALL REMOVAL:
Removing an existing bearing wall and replacing it with a structural steel I-beam or engineered LVL/Microlam product to create an open floor plan is a fairly routine project.
Flush beam installations will require cutting into the existing floor joists above in order to push the new beam up 'flush' into the existing floor system.
A dropped beam is set below the existing floor joists and is generally less labor intensive than a flush beam.
