Privacy Policy for School Attendance
Effective date: July 23, 2026
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bright Brains (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when schools and authorized staff use the School Attendance mobile application (“the App”), package name com.kaju.smartattendance2026.
1. Purpose of the App
School Attendance is an administrative tool intended for use by authorized adult school staff, including principals, directors, and teachers.
The App allows schools to:
Register a school account.
Create accounts for authorized teachers.
Assign teachers to one or more classes.
Add students to classes and sections.
Record daily attendance.
View class-wise and student-wise attendance history.
The App is not intended to be operated directly by students or children.
2. Information Processed by the App
The App may process the following information when entered by authorized school staff:
School information
School name
School code
Staff account information
Username
Password
Staff role, such as principal, director, or teacher
Classes assigned to a teacher
Passwords are converted into a cryptographic hash before being stored. The App does not store passwords as readable plain text.
Student information
Student name
Roll number
Class and section
Daily attendance status
Attendance history
Username of the staff member who recorded attendance
Schools and authorized staff are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary authority or consent to enter and process student information.
3. How Information Is Used
Information entered into the App is used only to provide attendance-management functions, including:
Authenticating authorized staff.
Separating the records of different schools.
Controlling teacher access to assigned classes.
Maintaining student lists.
Recording attendance.
Displaying attendance reports and history.
Supporting normal operation and security of the App.
We do not use student or staff information for advertising, profiling, marketing, or unrelated commercial purposes.
4. Local Storage and Data Transmission
The current version of the App stores information locally on the Android device using an internal database.
The current version:
Does not transmit school, staff, student, or attendance information to our servers.
Does not provide cloud synchronization between devices.
Does not sell personal information.
Does not share personal information with advertisers.
Does not contain advertising SDKs.
Does not use third-party analytics services.
Does not collect precise or approximate location.
Does not access contacts, photographs, cameras, microphones, SMS messages, or call records.
Android or the device manufacturer may include application data in a device backup depending on the user’s operating-system and account backup settings. Such backups are controlled by the device platform and account provider, not by us.
If cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, or other online services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released.
5. Multi-School Data Separation
Each registered school receives a separate school code. Accounts, students, class assignments, and attendance records are associated with the relevant school.
The App is designed to prevent users from one registered school from accessing another school’s locally stored records through the normal App interface.
Because the current version operates locally, registering the same school on another device does not automatically transfer or synchronize its records.
6. Children’s and Student Privacy
The App is designed for use by authorized adult school employees and is not intended for direct use by children.
Student information is entered and managed by the school. The school is responsible for:
Providing any notices required to parents or guardians.
Obtaining any legally required consent.
Limiting access to authorized staff.
Ensuring student information is accurate.
Using the App in accordance with applicable education and child-privacy laws.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through the App.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or disclose information stored in the App to advertisers or other third parties.
Information may be viewed by authorized staff using the device on which the information is stored, according to their assigned role and class permissions.
We may disclose information if legally required to comply with a valid court order, legal process, or applicable law. Because the current version stores data locally and does not transmit it to us, we generally do not possess or control the records stored on a user’s device.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
School and attendance information remains stored on the device until one of the following occurs:
The records are deleted through a supported App function.
The App’s storage is cleared through Android settings.
The App is uninstalled.
The device or its storage is erased.
Clearing App storage or uninstalling the App may permanently delete locally stored school accounts, teacher accounts, student records, and attendance history.
Teacher accounts are created and managed by the school’s principal or director. Staff should contact their school administrator regarding account access or deletion.
For privacy or deletion assistance, contact us at tanzeelalam1989@gmail.com.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the current offline design, including:
Android private application storage.
Password hashing.
Role-based access.
Teacher class permissions.
Separation of records by school.
However, no device or storage method is completely secure. Schools should protect devices with a PIN, password, biometric lock, or other appropriate security controls and should not share administrator credentials.
10. Third-Party Services
The current version does not intentionally integrate advertising, analytics, social-media, or cloud-database services.
Distribution through Google Play is governed separately by Google’s terms and privacy practices. Android device backups may also be governed by Google, the device manufacturer, or another backup provider.
11. International Use
Schools are responsible for determining whether their use of the App complies with applicable privacy, education, employment, record-retention, and child-protection laws in their country or region.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features or data practices change.
The revised policy will display a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App, the application listing, or our website where appropriate.
