On the world stage, International Women’s Day on March 8 is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while also marking a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

ISSS is now hiring for a International Student Orientation Graduate Assistant to assist ISSS staff with all aspects of International Student Orientation programming! This is a renewable GAA appointment starting Summer 2023, requires 20 hours per week and provides a full tuition waiver. This position will primarily assist and support the organization and administration of International Student Orientation in-person events each semester; assist with hiring, training, and supervising of VISA Leaders; continuously rethink and develop new ideas for orientation programs and resources for incoming international students, and make updates to online asynchronous International Student Orientation course.

Applications for the Non-resident Tuition Waivers for Summer 2023 will open on March 5th and close on April 2nd, 5 PM on iStart.
This waiver is for international students who are within one academic year of graduation.

If your current travel signature is more than 6 months, Remember to have your form I-20 or DS-2019 signed before you depart the U.S for travel. Your I-20 will be digitally endorsed and emailed to your GSU student email. Note also that there are still international travel restrictions in place.

It is very important to continue monitoring the CDC website, U.S. Department of State’s travel advisories, the ISSS website, and Georgia State Coronavirus Resources for up-to-date information regarding travel to the U.S. and campus. Some countries have restrictions on entry into the U.S., and we highly recommend that you check the above resources on a regular basis and/or speak to the airline you plan to use before flying. You may take a test before returning to campus for spring classes.

Curricular Practical Training (“CPT”) is a temporary off-campus employment authorization for F1 visa students. Curricular means the work must be required or related to a course in the student’s major program of study, and the student must receive academic credits for the work.
Eligibility
Full-time enrollment for at least one academic year (Fall + Spring) prior to authorization at GSU or at another SEVIS-approved institution, unless your internship experience is required (and clearly stated in the Academic Catalog) to complete your program.
Active F-1 status
Good academic standing with the school
Completion of a CPT workshop in ISSS no later than the 1st week of the current semester
Availability of an existing course in the student’s major or program of study to support CPT authorization by the student’s academic department or supervising faculty member.
IEP students are not eligible
Summer 2023 Applications are open from Monday, February 27th until Friday, June 9th , 2023 by 5pm*
* New CPT applications must be complete and approved by the secondary approver, only pending ISSS review by the deadline each term to be processed. Regardless, applications submitted at the last minute are still subject to the normal 3-5 day processing time. You may not be able to begin work on Monday even if you submit a completed CPT application by the Friday deadline.

Panther's Pantry locations distribute food, hygiene and additional products to students to alleviate stress associated with short-term food insecurity in order to effectively reduce hunger and support educational success.
What We Offer: Due to Covid-19 safety precautions, all Panther’s Pantry locations have moved to a bag system. Goods will vary based on inventory. We offer standard food bags, vegetarian food bags, hygiene bags with female products, and hygiene bags with male products.
Who Can Shop: Students, faculty, and staff can pick up a food bag and a hygiene bag once per week.
