Atlas Moderne is a creative Minecraft building community focused on recreating the world of the 1930s. Our goal is to bring places from the past back to life through Minecraft, from entire cities and small towns to individual buildings, railways, ports, ships, airfields, and landscapes.
A large part of Atlas is based around real places and history. Many cities have changed drastically over the past 90 years, while countless buildings, neighborhoods, railways, ports, and other landmarks have disappeared completely. Rebuilding these places gives us a way to explore what they may have looked and felt like at the time.
It isn't only about architecture either. Cars, trains, ships, aircraft, infrastructure, advertisements, fashion, and all the smaller details of the period help make these projects feel alive. Historical accuracy is important to us, but so is creating an atmosphere that actually feels like the 1930s.
Projects across Atlas can take many different forms. Builders recreate real cities, towns, landscapes, transportation systems, military and naval sites, as well as fictional places based on real regions and architectural styles. Projects can range from individual buildings to large cities and landscapes developed over months or even years.
Atlas is also a place for builders to collaborate, share research, exchange ideas, and bring their different interests together. Architecture, railways, aviation, ships, infrastructure, and landscaping all play a part in creating a larger picture of the period.
Whether you're interested in recreating a lost city block, building a railway, filling a harbor with period ships, or developing an entire historical city, Atlas Moderne is a place to build, explore, and bring the world of the 1930s back to life.
