Four years ago I started using evernote to organize a study trip to Switzerland. I did that because of the atlas tool. I am an architect and that tool was magnificent! I could see all the pins on a full screen map. I could sincronize the ipad and the iphone and check every single location of all the buildings listed while I was walking or driving in Switzerland (on and off line). The full screen map had a flag for each note and when there where too many locations too close to each other, a number on the flag showed how many notes were included. During the past years the flags has turn into pins with no numbers, the full screen has turn into a small fraction of the screen and now the atlas option is not even an option on my iphone.

The location field is still there. You can search by it. You can sort by it. Clicking the field brings up google maps with the correct location. I know that this doesn't give you quite what the atlas did. It sounds like a great (and presumably not very hard) opportunity for somebody to integrate this into google maps as a third party app.

Thanks. Yes I've heard this before but the problem is this is a feature that did exist and then was removed. It's not like something new. As fa as using 3rd party solutions, although they may work it doesn't really address the problem. The Atlas feature was useful because it was automatic AND required no interaction from the user. It provided another way of referencing notes besides tags, etc. For instance I may not be able to remember the name of a restaurant I went to the last time I was in Syracuse, New York but I remember I really like it. The atlas feature made it easy to see all the notes I had stored when I was in Syracuse - a limited amount - and from there it wouldn't be hard to find the information I was looking for about that restaurant. Of course there are many other examples of how this has been useful.

Not quite the perfect solution to missing Atlas, or weather meta data - but you can use the IFTTT service to generate a note each day with the weather forecast. It won't "follow you" if you're travelling - but it does work for where you've got it set for. I do this with a daily journal note that gets sent to my Evernote account each day - with built out spots that I'm always filling in (how much coffee I drank today, how much water, what did I eat, etc) - and the note heading always gets the weather forecast.

Might not be what you want or need - but it's an idea in case you haven't thought of it before.

But ultimately, yes, it would be nice to have the atlas feature again!

As a side point to AADCGs comment, while you are correct I am REALLY interested in having separate windows as separate browser processes as part of my workflow these days because the browser is starting to become a kind of pseudo window manager for web applications which is starting to get annoying with traditional browsers.
