CREATING VR ESCAPE ROOM GAMES USING THE ATENEO VIRTUAL REALITY ESCAPE (AVRE) FRAMEWORK
About Us
The Ateneo Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VAMR) Laboratory will be showcasing a game engine the lab created, through a DOST-PCIEERD grant, that enables developers to create virtual reality applications, and design VR experiences that aim for an escape-room approach.
The “escape room” approach challenges the player to use the information and clues available to them at a specific time, and analyze the possible solution or answer to “escape” or solve the given task.
The game engine developed, officially called the Ateneo Virtual Reality Escape (AVRE) Framework, is a Godot Engine add-on that provides a smoother experience for aspiring developers and game designers for developing VR escape rooms.
