Information and Cyber Security is a field of ICT involving the protection of unauthorized access to electronic data and computer systems. It deals with the protection of software, hardware, networks, and associated information. With the heavy usage of ICT resources these days the cyberattack threats are also increasing. Information and cybersecurity practices will protect ICT resources by mitigating information risks.
About the Institute
Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara was established in 2013 under Public Private Partnership of Government of India, Government of Gujarat, Tata Consultancy Services, Gujarat State Fertilizer Company, and Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute. Further, the institute has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. The major objective of its establishment is to set up a model of education which can produce best-in-class human resources in IT and harnessing the multi-dimensional facets of IT in various domains.
After undergoing this workshop, the participants will have a working knowledge of information and cybersecurity trends. They will be familiar with the existing security threats, tools and basic knowledge of ethical hacking.
A tentative list of topics (but not limited to) that may be covered during the course of the workshop are as follows:

Prof. Sarat Kumar Patra
Dr. Naveen Kumar
Prof. Mehul S Raval
Dr. Raval is a Professor in Information and Communication Technology / Computer Engineering, at the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) (December 2018 - ). He served the Ahmedabad University (2013 - 2018 ) as an Associate Professor and the DA-IICT as an Assistant Professor (2008 - 2013). He was associated with the Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) (1997 - 2008), Surat, India as Lecturer and then as an Assistant Professor. He was visiting faculty to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat (2005 - 2007) and Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (2004 - 2008), Surat, India. Dr. Raval visited Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University (July - August 2016), Japan under Sakura science exchange program sponsored by Japan Science and Technology (JST), Govt. of Japan. He was an Argosy visiting Associate Professor at Olin College of Engineering, MA, US during Fall 2016. He also served as an adjunct Professor at School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University during Winter semester (2018 - 19).
He is an alumnus of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department, College of Engineering Pune (COEP), one of the oldest engineering institute in Asia (established in 1854) and Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) (formerly University of Pune). He obtained Bachelor of Engineering - Electronics and Telecommunication (1996), Master of Engineering - Digital Systems (2002), and PhD in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (2008) from SPPU.
He has published extensively in journals, magazines, conferences, workshops at national and international stage. Dr. Raval is an associate editor for IEEE Access. He serves as member of technical program committee for leading national and international conferences, workshops, symposium. He reviews journals articles of IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, IET and other leading publishers. He has received research funds from Board of Research in Nuclear Science (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and IEEE.
He is supervising doctoral, M. Tech and B. Tech students. He also serves on Board of Studies(BoS) for various universities. He is a senior member of IEEE, Fellow of IETE, and Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India). Dr. Raval served IEEE Gujarat section during 2008 - 2015 and also served IEEE signal processing society (SPS) chapter as vice chair and exe-com member in 2014. Currently he is serving IEEE Gujarat section as a Joint Secretary.

Prof. Maniklal Das
Maniklal Das is Professor of Computer Science at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, India. He received his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and M.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (formerly ISM), Dhanbad, India. He has over 22 years of research and teaching experience in Information Security and Information Technology. His research works broadly cover all areas of Cyber Security and IT security management. During his professional service, he has served as investigator of several sponsored research projects with national and international collaborators in the area of Security and Privacy. He is currently on Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. He has served as a member of the technical program committee for many international conferences and workshops, and he is a regular reviewer of IEEE/ACM/Springer/Elsevier journals. He is a senior member of the IEEE and life member of Cryptology Research Society of India.

Dr. Priyanka Singh
Dr. Priyanka Singh is currently working as assistant professor at DAIICT Gandhinagar. Prior to this, she was worked as postdoctoral fellow at Dartmouth College with Prof. Hany Farid. She has postdoctoral experience at University at Albany, State University of New York with Prof. Pradeep K. Atrey and at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Rookee, India with Dr. Balasubramanian Raman and Prof. Manoj Misra. She received her PhD from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, India under the advising of Prof. Suneeta Agarwal.

Adv. Manan Thakker
Cyber Lawyer & Info. Security Advisor
Mr. Thakker is a Computer Application Graduate, Ethical Hacker, PGDM (E-business), Law Graduate(LL.B), Masters in Cyber Laws (PGDCL) and ICRA Certified ISMS/ISO 27001 Info. Security Auditor. He also holds certificate in Vedic Science Practices. He is a founder and techno-legal advisor of CLS. CLS is a techno-legal consulting firm which deals with more than 200 corporate in IT, BPO/KPO, ISP, E-commerce, E-banking, E-governance and Cloud Sectors since 2003. He is also a founding partner of Manan Thakker & Associates (Corporate Advocates, Cyber Lawyers & Info. Security Advisors) which is Gujarat’s first firm exclusively providing services in the fields of cyber crimes, cyber laws and reasonable security practices areas. He has professionally advised in more than 700 cyber cases. He is a practicing cyber lawyer in the special cyber court of Hon’ble Adjudicating Officer, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and CAT (Cyber Appellate Tribunal), New Delhi. He has filed Gujarat’s First Cyber Fraud case for compensation in the special cyber court of Adjudicating Officer under I.T.Act, 2000 @ Gandhinagar. He has filed highest number of Cyber Fraud Cases for compensation in Gujarat. In fact, all the Cyber fraud cases for compensation in the State of Gujarat till December, 2016 are filed by his law firm Manan Thakker & Associates. He has also filed the First cyber law matter from Gujarat in Cyber Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi. He has worked as a Corporate Advocate & Techno-Legal Advisor for Various Departments of Govt. of Gujarat namely Dept. of Science & Technology, Home Department, Health Department, Admin Department (GAD) and Transport Department for various E-governance Projects. He has trained more than 18,000 IT, Engineers, CA, CS, CWA & Law Professionals/Students in last 16 years for computer frauds, cyber crimes, cyber security, cyber laws and system audit. He has authored various articles on cyber law & security in TAXMANN’S Corporate Professionals Today Magazine. He has also authored various articles in Gujarat Government’s Rojgar Samachar. He has conducted various programs on DoorDarshan, Aakashvani & various private media.

Mr. Nilay Mistry
Mr. Nilay R. Mistry is ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in Gujarat Forensic Sciences University. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D. in Digital Forensics from the same university. His area of expertise are High Tech Crime Investigation, OSINT, Mobile Forensics, Information Security, Security Audit, Web Vulnerability Assessment, Digital Forensic Investigations, Data Recovery, Disk Forensics, OS Forensics and Network Forensics. He is also involved in designing novel syllabus, and new courses in academia. He is proficient in various Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics tools. He was involved in several R&D projects of Government of India. He has successfully delivered several technical talks. He has also appointed as a nodal officer during loksabha elections-2019 . He was CERT in panel member in year 2018. He is also a member of National Committee on Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Child (CCPWC) formed by MHA, Government of India.

Mr. Swapnil Pandya
Mr. Swapnil Pandya is a B.E Computer Engineer completed his Bachelor from Ahmedabad Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad. He is an CISEH (Certified Information Security & Ethical Hacking) certified. Apart from this, he has achieved other certifications i.e Social Engineering & Manipulation, Web Application & Penetration Testing, Kali Linux +, Security + and so on!!! He is associated with Ahemdabad Cyber cell. And, exclusively working with INFERNO INFOTECH for creating awareness and taking interactive seminar in the field of Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking. He is trainer @ INFERNO INFOTECH and gives training to the students for any course opted in the Cyber Security field. He is currently working as an Associate MSS Engineer @ INDUSFACE Pvt. Ltd. Vadodara. Mr. Muttaqui Kapadia
Mr. Muttaqui Kapadia has done Bachelors in Computer Engineering, having an intention of securing the future era he has also gone through the specialized courses in cyber security and is currently working as a Cyber Security Analyst. He is also a Bug Bounty Hunter and has reported bug for many companies including Intel and his name has recently been added in the Hall of Fame of “Google”. Having an intrigue and being a security enthusiast, he has worked on various Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing projects for various companies, he has additionally directed and had taken Corporate Trainings on the subject of Cyber security.

Mr. Jaimin Gohel
Mr. Gohel is Manager-Professional Services at Net Square Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Chapter Lead at Null Ahmedabad. He is experienced Security Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the web, mobile and network security industry. He is skilled in Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing, and Information Security.

Mr. Raviraj Rao
Mr. Raviraj is an Information Security Analyst at Indusface with a passion for aligning security plans and processes with security standards and business goals. He has extensive experience in planning and testing security frameworks for a web application, API, Network and Android. He has helped companies around the globe by submitting over 600+ vulnerabilities through Hacker one and 110+ on Bug crowd. He is a top Ethical Hacker under the disclosure program of the Department of Defense (DOD) United States government and placed in the hall of fame of top organizations.

Ms. Ashwariya Dave
Miss Ashwariya has completed M.E in cyber Forensics from GSFU. She is also a Bug Bounty Hunter. Have also attained 4+ years of experience in the field of IT Security & Cyber Forensics. She is senior Trainer for CEH (Certified Ethical Hacking) program & CPT (Certified Penetration Testing) course at PristineInfo. She is well Versed with all the things related to Cyber Forensics.

Mr. Ritesh Soni
Mr. Soni has completed B.E (computer) from Ahmedabad Institute of Technology. He has expertise in IOT-Security and have attended many national & international conferences for the same. He is well versed with PCB Design. He is the web Developer and Technical Head of INFERNO INFOTECH. He is also an expert faculty for IOT- Security @ INFERNO INFOTECH. He is an attendee of STTP on Embedded System and IOT Using Arduino & Node MCU. He has 2+ years experience in the IOT- Security field.
