Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Astersong app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Vladimir Khuraskin (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as
Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages
The time spent on the Application
The operating system you use on your mobile device
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device. Your place of birth is typed in by you and looked up in a place index. The Application never reads the location of your device.
The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance user experience and provide certain features. The AI components may process user data to deliver personalized content, recommendations, or automated functionalities. All AI processing is performed in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable laws. If you have questions about the AI features or data processing, please contact the Service Provider. AI features (the morning guess, the evening scene, and chats with your sides) require explicit consent. See "Third-Party AI Processing" for what is sent to OpenAI and how to opt out.
The Service Provider may use the information you provided to send you the reminders you turn on in the Application and to show you important information and required notices inside it. The Application does not collect your email address and does not send marketing messages.
For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to Name, birth date, birth time, gender, birth place. The information that the Service Provider request will be retained by them and used as described in this privacy policy.
Third Party Access
The Application transmits data to external services to deliver features and improve the service. Your account and everything you create in the Application are stored on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions), which the Service Provider operates as the backend of the Application. Usage analytics are sent to Amplitude and are linked to a pseudonymous user identifier rather than to your name. Subscription identifiers are sent to RevenueCat. AI processing data is sent to OpenAI as described in the "Third-Party AI Processing" section below, and this data is not anonymized. When you search for your place of birth, the text you type is sent to a place lookup service operated by the Service Provider. The Application does not use any crash reporting service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

OpenAI (see 'Third-Party AI Processing' below for what is sent and how to opt out)
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
Third-Party AI Processing
We use OpenAI (provided by OpenAI, L.L.C., based in the United States) as a data processor to write the words your sides say: the morning guess on your home screen, the evening scene where your sides talk your day over, and your chats with a single side or with all of them at once. All requests to OpenAI are made from our Firebase Cloud Functions backend. The Application never sends data directly from your device to OpenAI.
Data we send to OpenAI:
Your natal chart data (planetary positions, aspects, and house cusps when your birth time is known) computed from your birth date, time, and place.
Your evening check-in: your mood and energy ratings, the areas you tagged for that day, such as work, family, rest or money, and the text of the note you wrote.
Your gender, when set, used to apply correct grammatical forms in your replies.
The text of your questions in chat, and recent messages from the same chat so the reply follows the conversation.
The names of your seven sides, their order, and how they relate to each other.
Data we do not send to OpenAI:
Your name.
Your raw birth date, birth time, or birth-place coordinates.
Your Firebase user identifier or device identifiers.
OpenAI's role and data usage:
OpenAI acts solely as a data processor for our requests. OpenAI does not act as a data controller for this data.
Per OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy, data submitted via the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI's models.
OpenAI may retain API request data for up to 30 days for abuse and misuse monitoring, after which it is deleted, in line with OpenAI's then-current API data retention terms.
Your consent and control:
We obtain your explicit, opt-in consent before sending any of the data above to OpenAI. You see a dedicated consent screen during onboarding (or once on first launch after the update if you used an earlier version of the app).
You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI features (OpenAI).
When AI processing is off, the morning guess, the evening scene and the chats are disabled. Your seven sides are computed from the moment you were born without AI, so your team, your check-ins and your journal keep working.
When you decline or revoke consent, we will not send your data to OpenAI from any in-app interaction or from our scheduled background tasks.

Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. You can erase everything yourself at any time in Settings, section Data, "Delete all data". This permanently removes your details, your team, your check-ins and every message, both from your device and from the Service Provider's servers, and it cannot be undone. You can also write to khuraskin.dev@gmail.com and the Service Provider will respond in a reasonable time.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 16.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 16. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 16 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (khuraskin.dev@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. Use of AI features (the morning guess, the evening scene, and chats with your sides) requires separate, explicit consent obtained through an in-app consent screen. You may revoke this consent at any time in the Application's Settings.
