Chambre Clawson

The AAFC-TX State Conference is a great place to network with professionals in the field who have a passion for teaching. By attending the conference, I will gain insight into the latest trends and new research in FCS through workshops and presentations which I can then take back to my AAFCS student organization.
Chris Ruiz
Texas Tech University
I am the President of our AAFCS chapter at Texas Tech University. I have never attended an AAFCS conference and believe it would be a wonderful opportunity to learn more to better my organization. I will also give a short presentation of what we've done these past two years at the conference for a panel.
Esmeralda Avila

I am interested in hearing about what is happening in classrooms within different Texas school districts. I would also like to connect with professionals who share the same passion as I do for the FCS profession.
About The Donna Culliton Memorial Scholarship
The Donna Culliton Memorial Scholarship was established in 2003 in memory of Donna Gerlick Culliton, CFCS. Donna died, October 3, 2003 (just 10 days short of her 50th birthday) of complications arising from her treatment for breast cancer. She was wife to Tim and the mother of three: Natalie, Nicholas and Kimberly.
Donna was born October 13, 1953 in Waco. She graduated from Reicher High School in 1972 and received her B.S. in Home Economics Education from Baylor University in 1975.
In 1976, she was employed as a home service advisor by what was then Texas Power and Light Company. Donna held many positions and received numerous promotions while with TXU. At the time of her death, she was a retail electric provider relations manager for Oncor, the electric delivery division of TXU.
Those who knew Donna described her as vivacious, caring, strong and giving. She was the consummate professional in all that she undertook, possessing superior organizational and people skills. She loved people and made a friend of everyone she met. In fact, you would find it difficult to find anyone who had anything but positive things to say about Donna.
An active member of AAFCS, TAFCS, and the North Texas Business Section, Donna was totally committed to building and strengthening the organization and especially to supporting those young Family & Consumer Science professionals.
For that reason, the North Texas Business Section created the Donna Culliton Memorial Scholarship to honor her and to carry on her work. The recipients of this scholarship are held to the very highest standard... the one that Donna herself exemplified.
