Individuals join an organization for various reasons, which may include any or all of the following:
To make important contacts in the profession.
To keep up-to-date in a rapidly changing profession.
To learn of job openings and positions filled.
To share experience with others in similar fields of interest.
To become certified in one’s professional field.
Membership Options and Cost
AAFCS-Texas Affiliate membership is composed of approximately 450 family and consumer sciences professionals. Membership in the AAFCS and the AAFCS-Texas Affiliate are simultaneous.
Professional (Members with a degree or professional level credential who support the field of family & consumer sciences. Professional category includes former Active, Ellen Richards Sustaining, and Associate memberships. This membership level includes registration for live webinars offered by AAFCS Professional Development Center).
First Year Professional Membership (Special introductory rate for the first year of Professional membership – one year only).
Emeritus (Members who meet the Professional category who are retired and at least 60 years of age).
Student (Students enrolled full time as a post-secondary, undergraduate or graduate student; see HUGS on Student Unit page for special offer).
