Jon is a scholar with an innovative mindset and a passion for collaborating with creative people. He is avid reader, researcher and world traveller.

He holds a Ph.D. in Learning, Design and Technology from The University of Hawaii and studies how technology can facilitate, support and enhance opportunities for learning. Jon's research focuses on designing learning experiences, using digital tools, and building networks.

In the design studio, Jon enjoys connecting student projects with work being done by people in the community while keeping sight of the global sustainability goals. He believes in positioning students to accomplish work that makes the world a better place.

Jon allows for student choice and encourages students to work according to their strengths and preferences, while providing them with encouragement, feedback and support. His goal is for students to become proficient independent learners, and collaborative problem solvers.
